For the price, I expected a bit more, especially when compared to similar establishments in McKinney. Overall, it's a lovely place and decent food. The shrimp and grits were too cheesy for our taste, which I never thought I'd say. The salmon was good, not great. We'll have to come back to try some steak or some other options. I'm over the moon about this place. Even though this is a steakhouse my friend and I split a chicken fried chicken meal and piece of chocolate cake. Let me just say that was the best cooked fried chicken I have ever had in my life. It was cooked perfectly. And the chocolate cake was to die for. The service was Top Notch, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. This is got to be the best restaurant in the area. High quality and small town. I could eat there every day happily. Doc's Lounge is our favorite place for date night and special occasions!! The food is always delicious, and I think we've tried everything on the menu!! Great variety of drink options, but we always have cheesecake for dessert and it's TO DIE FOR! Love this place! So happy it's in downtown Denison! Food: 5 Service: 5

My husband booked dinner reservations here for our valentines date and we were both very impressed! Definitely coming back for special occasions 😊 It was my first time ever trying fried calamari & I actually really liked it! I especially loved that they mixed in fried cauliflower. Oh and that sweet & spicy sauce on it was *chefs kiss* My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken (which he would not shut up about how good it was) and he also got mac n cheese. I ordered the brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes! All so yummy!! Portions were perfect!! Their cocktails were strong, smooth, and delicious!! We have been 3 times now. The first time was amazing, the 2nd was so incredibly awful we would have never returned. We both left without eating essentially the food was horrible and rotten meat was served. The last trip (which we only tried again due to being given a gift cert for the inexcusable previous visit) was excellent. Our waiter Joel could not have been better in any way, and the food was perfect as you’d expect. Not sure what happened that 2nd visit. Great atmosphere and seemingly mostly good food, biggest takeaway is pricing. After all this is Denison not Dallas, and while it’s good, they aren’t Ruth’s Chris Or Flemings to substantiate that type of pricing. Steaks aren’t very good Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
