Stopped by as we heard the chef/owner has worked at some of our very favorite spots where we used to live (such as Romaine's in Northboro and Great Road Kitchen in Littleton). The food was perfect and we can't wait to try more. Pizza was thin and crispy, wings were huge and very obviously fresh, ricotta meatballs were perfect (sauce not too sweet) and the fried pickles were perfect and must be a popular item as 4 or 5 other parties around us had them.
The bar area has a great atmosphere and some of the dinner-meals looked delicious, though we were too full to order more. We will be back! Found our new favorite spot in the area.

Overall the food is pretty good and portions are generous. The salads are filling and the red mashed potatoes side is excellent. They have a wide variety of menu items - including various pizza dishes. Some vegetarian dishes include veggie tacos, eggplant parmigian, veggie pizza, and a variety of sides. Prices are a bit high for non-vegetarian entrees. Service is usually friendly. They also have a trivia night every two weeks.

lunch recently, have been here a few times, both in current and previous iterations, but today the food (brunch menu) was great, I had a burger as good as any I have had and I do enjoy burgers, and the home fries were wonderful also, also had the steak and eggs special which was also wonderful, though pricey, we were very impressed by the experience!!!!
lunch today, dreary day so a good time to get out....this is the same location as the previous restaurant with the same name but completely new ownership and chef....we ate at the nice looking bar, was not particularly busy but that's ok.....drinks were good and as ordered, medium size and price, ri calamari very good and different, wife had the tuna melt and I the burger, both very good and you get a bunch of fries....service was pleasant and interesting...open for lunch and dinner and a brunch on Sunday...nice place, give it a try..
this my review of the previous 873 cafe which has closed
Lunch recently, very nice new area adjacent to the 873 cafe, opens at noon each day....bartender was very pleasant and informative and we sat at a bar made from the maple that fell in the 08 ice storm on the owners property, drinks were good, limited selections of beers....the veggie quesadilla was excellent and the black blue burger very good and done as ordered....they are still expanding and will be opening a market in the future....nice addition to Ashby!!!and the ice cream bar will be open soon!!
My husband and I stopped here for lunch. We were in line for over 10 minutes waiting to be seated, along with a family in front of us. Eventually the family in front of us walked out.
We waited another 5 minutes ourselves, not once did anyone great us, not once did anyone tell us their would be a wait. We were very disappointed and eventually walked out. To note there were many open tables available.
