We were visiting from California and stopped by for lunch. The waterfront location was splendid and enjoyable. It had been raining, so we weren't able to sit on the deck. Upon arrival, we were seated at the large table in front of the sake wall display case. It was charming and made a great backdrop and cozy corner. The gentleman who helped us during our dining was very friendly and had great energy. We ordered the sparkling sake. My daughter and her boyfriend don't drink alcohol much and were pleasantly surprised with how much they liked the sake. For food (rated on scale of 1 to 5), we ordered the agedashi tofu (4 of 5), vegetable tempura (4 of 5), tasting bento (katsu (3 of 5-breading was too charred with Alaskan roll/Nigiri (4 of 5) and Godzilla Roll (3 of 5-not a huge fan of this version with cream cheese). Overall, food was nicely presented and tasty. We completed the experience with tempura ice cream, and that was a delight. I highly recommend this family owned business for the fabulous view, location, cheerful atmosphere, and tasty food option. Embarrassing note: Our visit was in January 2023. Small family owned restaurant with views of the water and a small outdoor seating area. We got both kinds of ramens which were both good but nothing spectacular. Love this place! It's our Go-to Sushi place. We love the variety of their Bento Box and pair that with a hot Sake and you have a great date. The outdoor patio is the best! Right on the water, great bay view, across from the Marina activity just watching the commercial boats come and go. Maybe even lucky to see a little Coast Guard action! We had an incredible meal here today! We were looking for Japanese ramen & found this place. Lucky us they had sushi too and it was absolutely incredible. You can tell the seafood is super fresh. Do yourself a favor and get the spicy salmon stuffed jalapeños! They surprised me in the best way. The sake Bloody Mary was delicious & a fun choice - they have a pretty extensive cocktail/drink list including a sake + baileys + chocolate martini! The ramen was flavorful & large enough for us to share. We finished with mochi ice cream & they even cut each flavor in half so that we could easily share. Oh and don’t forget to look up at the jellyfish lamps they have above each table - so cool! Excellent sushi. what a hidden gem. Anyone visiting the Newport Area down on the wharf should stop in and check it out. This is a fantastic sushi place. During the summer, you can enjoy sitting out on the dock. The perfect place to watch the ships come in and view the historic Newport bridge and sunset. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is wonderful. The waterfront view from the windows is beautiful, especially for such a hidden gem. The music they were playing was lounge covers of common pop and rock songs. It was a fun talking point as we waited for our food. The menu was almost overwhelming with all the options available. We shared deliciously spiced edamame as an appetizer. I have never had anything like it, as most edamame is merely salted. I ate a poke bowl, and I think I will dream of it for weeks. The poke was presented as shredded tuna mixed with seaweed and spices, atop rice with cucumber salad and cabbage. Every bite of this meal was pure happiness, and was the highlight of my new years day. I ate a dessert unlisted on the menu: Lava cake. It was delicious, though probably should be served with ice cream. The service was good, but I think they may be understaffed. I felt that my waiter was doing the best he could, although he wasn't available consistently. I don't think it was his fault, because I could see how busy he was the entire time. The Rice suprisingly did not taste seasoned. The waitress young eager unpolished & inexperienced. Outdoor seating super windy & can take napkins to the sea. A few rocks on every table might reduce incidental pollution. Highly recommend Asiatico's wide Sake selection.👌. Friendly polite and worth the penny. My partner and I are huge sushi enthusiasts and we’re excited to try this place in Newport. We both have been the most violently ill since eating here. We had the Oyster’s, Stuffed Jalapeños Peppers, the Sugar Mama, Spicy Yellowtail and another Salmon roll. This all tasted fine at the time, but within the next hour we began what has been the most painful and disgusting 24 hours for our bodies. We didn’t sleep more than 2 hours last night, and basically had to take turns at the toilet. The sushi was the only thing we ate yesterday besides a muffin in the morning and we’ve never gotten so sick after eating at a place. Never again. I wish we could get refunded for the pain it’s caused. We love supporting small businesses but unfortunately something was not properly cared for before it was served to us.
