Absolutely love this place. I dont order pancakes anywhere. I go out of my way to make sure i get a stack of the sweet-cream cakes here. The atmosphere is a woodsy cabin type. Upbeat, it is a diner so expect the typical diner noises. I did not see a single staff member who looked like they did not want to be there. A nice sized menu, Ive had variations of their country fried steaks. Each was amazing. Perfectly made with proper sized portions. The sweet-cream cakes melt in your mouth. A nice firm outer layer with a smooth creamy inner. PERFECT!! The hash browns were not my favorite, a wide cut hash. The country potatoes were more my bag. I've dined in and taken out. Dine in was around 730 am on a Friday. The crowd was slowly picking up but I was out of there before it filled. Take out was fine. The portions seemed a little smaller than a plated meal but still did the job. All in all, I'ld be there every weekend if my heart could take it! They have creative dishes, hard to decide what to pick. Portions are good size and got a to go box. Service was with a smile and on point. Stuffed Blackberry French Toast was worth every calorie I had to work off later. My co-worker highly recommended this restaurant because of my love of pancakes. Now I'm writing a review telling everyone ... That this restaurant and the pancakes are fantastic! The food is awesome and the service is top notch. The prices are somewhat competitive with other diners but it makes up for it with large tasty proportions. What makes my visit so unique, Was the friendly bear in a costume. The Bear was in the restaurant entrance greeting me and my family. That was so unexpected and appreciated. If you looking for a family dinner with good proportions, I highly recommend Black Bear Diner.
