This was our first visit ever to a Black Bear Diner and it might be our last. The outside look of the building did not even come close to the atmosphere of the inside dinning area. Very dirty tables and the wait staff was slow. The food was OK but priced a bit high for the quality and service. First time in this restaurant based on a recommendation. The four of us were looked after by Scott who patiently waited for us to order between us catching up on each other. Service was great! Meals were unanimously enjoyed by our group without exception. A big thank you to Scott for letting us sit there for hours while we drank coffee and caught up. A definite return for us!! Jose was my server, very attentive and well spoken,the hardest worker in the room in my opinion. I had the chicken fried steak ,the gravy was absolutely delicious as well as the biscuit. The newspaper menu I believe is a nice touch. We have been to other B B Diner's. Lodge style building takes you away to a mountain like retreat. All are very good. This is my new favorite. Food Excellent. Service Excellent. Atmosphere Excellent. I love stopping here every time I am in town for work. The service is fantastic and they always listen to any special requests I have. It's so nice to feel cared about, remembered and welcomed every time. I feel "home" when I visit.
