Update: went there again last weekend and ordered the pork shanks. Two tiny, dried out and tasteless shanks. I get that they weren't supposed to come with the sauce on them already, but there was no trace of a rub or any seasoning. Elotes were small as well. Where can a man get a full meal anymore? At least the cornbread was moist and tasty, and service was attentive. ~~~~~ I knew they had moved locations, but I wasn't prepared for the new management which was very much not Mom & Pop like the old owners. This is more of a bougie bbq "experience" where you pay extra to rub elbows with the CB elite. Some of the old favorites were there like the mooing pig, and there were some new additions to the menu like elote corn, which was tasty. However, there were no 2 meat bbq plates which were less than $20, and each "upgraded" meat was $5 PER MEAT. Speaking of the meat, they pitched a "leaner, meatier" baby back rib which basically had some of the half loin cut on it. Anyone who has eaten half loin knows it's tougher and dry as heyull. And it doesn't belong on baby back ribs. Otherwise, I had a brisket sandwich, and my SO had the bb ribs, and we went our merry way. Staff were nice and were proud to work there which was refreshing. I have never seen so much team work in a restaurant! I was in Awe when other servers were asking to refill my drinks and others. My server was great, and so were the other servers.. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place.. The Owners were helping our their team also, I just love that! The food was so tasty, I fell in love with their corn bread. The jalapeño popper grilled cheese was so good, the prime rib was salty but it was so good couldn't stop eating it. We’ve always enjoyed this place especially their Friday night prime rib but the last 2 times we’ve gone it’s been a waste of money and disappointing. This was my $15 grilled cheese with bacon and jalapeño poppers. Tiniest piece of bacon and couldn’t even tell there was cheese. I think there was 1 popper cut up. Driest sandwich I’ve ever had. The time before they gave us garlic aioli for our prime rib accidentally instead of horseradish. My husband smothered his and it ruined the flavor on his expensive meal. They took off $5 for the mixup. He ate it anyways but it really gave it an off taste. And the $5 credit was kind of insulting.. I understand times are hard for restaurants but as a consumer I want food that is delicious if I’m paying these prices. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Super cool space located in a historic downtown Council Bluffs building space. Unbelievable food in a bluesy, BBQ smoke smelling way (not overwhelming, just delicious) Cool wait staff and just an all around great meal. I love BBQ and this is one of the best in the Omaha/CB area. This place is so frustrating. The food is outstanding but the service is not. Every time I order from here there is a problem. I ordered catering that was 30 minutes late, and then placed an order online that they claimed they don’t do anymore so when I got to the restaurant to pick up, they would not fulfill my order.
