Oh my goodness!
Absolutely lovely display of delicious dainty financiers, Madelines, kabocha pie, pound cakes, cream puffs and cakes. My absolute favorite was the Canelé. It has the perfect crisp on the outside! For those who say that it’s burnt, it’s not and it’s supposed to look like that to give the right texture and taste. Even in France customers think it’s burnt or have chocolate flavor but it’s the way it’s supposed to be baked. There’s a lot of fake Canelé in LA.
Got a box to take to a meeting! It was a hit! Will come back for more! Now I’ll frequent this Starbucks location so that I can drop by brown bag cookies!
Will definitely come back for thanksgiving and Christmas gifts for clients. Their pastries are better than Republique, Pitchon or Louie Bottega for sure.
The bakery is a take out place, no place to sit. It’s located on the other side (near parking lot, next to Starbucks). Gift card is available!
Regarding the one star review mentioning how they gave him cheap carton box because he’s Mexican, pay no attention, I always get the same box he posted and I am Korean. They’re not biased lol.
Buttermilk cream scone - 5 🌟!
Blueberry cream scone - 5 🌟!
Creme Brule pound cake - 5 🌟!
I found Brown Bag Cookies while I was trying to find the entrance to another eatery in a nice sized assortment of shops and eateries at the base of a commercial hi-rise. If I had walked in another direction, I would have missed Brown Bag entirely. They are a little hidden in the back, so make sure you look for them because they are worth it!
I was drawn to the cream scones in their display case and sampled the buttermilk and blueberry cream versions. I topped my visit up with a creme brule pound cake because it sounded interesting. I was very intrigued by the savory financier made with blue cheese, but I had lunch plans.
Everything was amazing. The scones are a perfect vehicle for cream based fillings. The cream is filling and has good flavors that are not too sweet. The creme brule cake was a great balance of burnt sugary goodness with soft cake.
I would love to come back and try more of their menu! They rotate flavors, so I'm sure I would always be able to find something new and tasty to try out.
Such an underrated spot! This bakery has a soft spot in my heart. Every dessert I’ve gotten is so good and every time I visit there’s always new creations for me to try. The owner is so sweet and I can really sense the love that goes into the sweet treats. Please go here, you won’t regret!

Bakery on the side of building away from Main Street. Street parking and parking lot available. All pastries are delicious and not too sweet! Earlier the better because they sell out of some things when afternoon hits
First I want to say that this is the best dessert I've ever had in LA!
I've been wanting to eat dessert here for so long! This is also the place I would pass by on my way to and from work. But unfortunately I get off work too late and it's closed every time I pass by. I had the day off and I also saw that Brown Cookie Bag was available on doordash and I didn't hesitate to order the dessert for $55, but I came right after enjoying only two desserts to review because I was so eager to let others know.
This is the best cannelé I've ever had!

OMG, I don't know how to describe it, this is like the textbook of canelé, all canelé lovers should try it, it's just great!
Also, I was attracted by the appearance of the blueberry cream scones, and this one tasted great, the scones had a very strong aroma and the blueberry cream tasted fresh as can be. My kitty came and grabbed it while I was eating it accordingly!
I have many more desserts I haven't tried! But these two were enough to conquer me. I'm sure I'll be sneaking out of work one day to purchase at store haha!
One of my best dessert shop. As a picky dessert lover, I can't help loving madeleines and scones from this shop. My favorite scone is a fig scone, everyone should have this scone!!! I definitely recommend you to have this yummy, cute, and precious dessert. (canelé is really good too!)
the location is very hard to find: it’s in the back behind the Main Street entrance. You have to go around the side to see the back end shops. Otherwise, the pastries and cookies were mindblowingly great. I got the fig and cheese financier, the tea cake, the earl grey canele and the matcha brownie like thing haha. The matcha brownie and the financier were our favorites. It came out to around $15 for the 4 pastries pictured, amaze
