I stopped for dinner and was quickly seated. This is a large place that is very well kept, and clean. My very friendly server came right over and gave me a menu and took my drink order. I ordered the original Detroit Style Pizza with old world pepperoni and brick cheese. I must tell you, this pizza lived up to the hype, it was WONDERFUL. The crust is so crunchy and the burnt cheese on the outside edge is to die for… This really is the good stuff. I will most definitely be back when I am in town. Our waitress was Taylor and she was phenomenal. Dealing with a group of 6 four of which are children. She was very attentive and the manager was as well. Great teamwork great attitude and everything we ordered was soooo tasty!!! Definitely will be coming back here more often!! Of course Buddy's is always great, but this most recent visit was excellent. I have allergies so need to order the gf crust. I got the gf BBQ chicken pizza and the crust was so thin and delicious! It was the best I've had at Buddy's. If you have allergies to gluten, it is worth it! Note, the crust does have dairy. Our server was a delight as well! Friendly, prompt and professional! Disappointing Experience with Hot Mac and Cheese for Young Children Recently, my family and I visited Buddy’s pizza with the intention of enjoying a pleasant meal together. As parents, we ordered a serving of Mac and Cheese for our two-year-old child, expecting a delightful and child-friendly dish. However, our experience quickly turned sour due to an unexpected oversight by the staff. Upon receiving the Mac and Cheese, we were dismayed to find that it was served PIPING HOT! Despite our best efforts to allow it to cool down, our child's impatience got the best of him. With each attempt to take a bite, he struggled against the scalding heat, resulting in BURNS to his tongue, lips, and a cascade of tears. While we understand the importance of serving food promptly, especially in a bustling restaurant environment, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of consideration shown by the server. A simple gesture of holding onto the dish until it reached a safe temperature for young children could have prevented this distressing situation. As parents, the well-being and comfort of our child are paramount, and this experience left us feeling let down by the restaurant's oversight. We hope that in the future, Buddy’s pizza and its staff will prioritize the safety and satisfaction of all diners, especially the youngest members of their clientele. In conclusion, while we had hoped for an enjoyable family outing, our experience with the excessively hot Mac and Cheese left a bitter taste in our mouths. All the hype you hear about Buddy's... it's well earned. Everything about the experience is amazing. We're in town for a karate event and arrived at the restaurant about 9:05 in the evening and the place closes at 10. We never felt rushed or unwelcome. The waiter is fabulous and attentive. You can tell the staff cares about a quality dining experience. We had the "Detroit Public TV" specialty pizza and it was perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this place! Came for early dinner Saturday at 4pm. Waited around awhile for any hostess to show up and notice us standing there. Ordered one 8 slice pizza for $24. Got the pizza 45 minutes later. It was lukewarm and mediocre all around and could have used a few more minutes in the oven. Smothered it in hot sauce and ranch to give it some type of flavor. Usually consistently very good. On occasion, like most places these days, there can be a few issues if they are short of staff. Only a couple of times, the pizza was skimpy with the cheese & the toppings. Same with the antipasto salad. The server might be able to remedy the situation if possible. Prices have definitely gone up. The other day, my friend & I ordered only a medium antipasto salad, which is quite large for 2 people & a small 4 piece pizza to share. The bill before a tip was $38.00. It was very enjoyable. We consumed all that we ordered & we were fine.
