The food was excellent. We had the chef special combination plate for appetizers, every thing on it was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had the chicken tika masala, always one of my favorite dishes and this one topped my list. My wife had the Bhindi Aloo and said it was delicious. The staff were very pleasant and the service was great. We will definitely be coming back. I ordered lamb biriyani from cafe of India and i got someone's left over in a box with added white rice on top. It was a mix of someone's left over and i could not touch it. The worst Indian restaurant i have seen. I don't recommend this restaurant, you can't trust this cafe because they will feed you anything as they tried to feed me leftover. Fantastic food. My husband and I lived in Dubai for 6 years, where we got very used to excellent Indian cuisine. This is super authentic and spicy. Highly recommend. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

My parter and I frequent a few Maynard haunts and I love Indian food so I was hopeful when we gave this place a try and I'm a little stunned at how some of our food came out. I'll start with some good parts: We both really liked the samosa breaded in tasty chickpea flour and the Lamb Rojanjosh was tender. However, I guess you have to ask if you want anything other than Wonder Bread mild. Our tandoori entree came on a HUGE bed of large chunks of nearly-raw onion that we ate around. The coconut soup - so simple, right? - I couldn't taste any cardamom or butter; what's in this besides a can of coconut cream and some sugar water? I am a heartfelt fan of Indian cuisine, and frequent most Indian restaurants in the Boston area. By far, Cafe of India exceeds all others, and I return here over and over again. I feel it is a hidden gem. Everything is amazing in terms of most authentic flavors, portion size, beautiful restaurant interior, cleanliness, and impeccable service. They simply never disappoint. My all time favorite dishes here are Yellow Dal Fry and Malai Kofta. The Naan is fresh and good. You can request spice level according to your preference. I often get take out here, or come for a nice quiet meal. They also have parking in the back, which is very convenient. I wish the restaurant owners much success, they are doing an amazing job and I'm so happy they brought Indian food to Maynard! Great local Indian restaurant. Always quick service. Staff is very attentive. Lunch buffet is great to try Indian for the first time. I've been coming here for several years and I'm never disappointed. Also great for take away.
