This was our first time dining at Casa Mia on saturday, February 17, 2024. My husband and daughter took my mother-in-law to dinner for her birthday. The service was phenomenal but the food was so-so because it was missing salt. We all had different dishes with pasta and upon the first mouthful, you could taste that there was no salt and whoever was in the kitchen preparing the pasta did not salt the water. I had linguine and clams with the white sauce, my daughter had linguine with shrimp in a rosé sauce, my husband had a fish dish that came with a side of pasta. All of us noticed the cardboard taste of the pasta. That's like a mortal sin to Cooking 101. You can't fix that after the fact to make up for the unsalted water. It's a rule that you must use salt when cooking potatoes, rice, and pasta otherwise it's pointless and you ruin the food. Not sure if the chef or kitchen staff had a bad night and someone just forgot to salt the water or if someone in the kitchen decided that everyone needs to limit their salt intake. I do think our meals would have been fabulous had the pasta been cooked correctly. Thank you.

One of my favorite local Italian places and places to grab a drink. The scrippelles are a must!
