In case the rain took you by surprise during the promenade around Athenaeum, stop by this bar. Try nicely cooked fried salmon, cobb salads and steak & eggs. Try good apple pie, blueberry pancakes and ice cream that are offered at Chadwicks. Delicious Mimosas, martinis or draft beer will make your meal even more delicious and you'll surely come back. A lot of visitors suppose that you can drink great juice, coffee or lemonade at this place. You can organize an anniversary, a wedding or a birthday party here. The staff is said to be nice here. The cool service is a great plus of this spot. Most guests highlight that prices are low for what you receive. At this bar, people can enjoy the quiet atmosphere and homey decor. Our first time coming here and we tried to have a nice meal and drinks after the St.Patricks day parade. It was busy downstairs, and the hostess informed us we could go upstairs for service. The group of individuals in front of us were told the same thing and sat at an empty table upstairs, so we assumed that all of the upstairs was self seating. My husband and I sat down at an empty table and asked a waiter walking by for some menus. A few minutes later a manager came by and informed us that we had to leave because the tables was reserved. The waiter then came back with waters and menus said that he would still serve us. The other group that was informed the same information by the hostess were served completely and were able to stay, yet we were being asked to leave. My husband and I just decided to leave after the extreme lack of communication of this restaurant. There were no clear guidelines on what the seating policy was upstairs, and we were being asked to leave due to the hostess failing to inform us that we couldn’t even sit down. Decided to have a meal elsewhere that would want to actually serve us. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Solid choice for brunch in the area. The decor is really cool as well, exposed stone walls, awesome tiled floors. The chicken is the star here. Get anything with the fried chicken and you can’t go wrong. The only issue I can think of is the lack of options for sides. Come for the chicken and stay for the beers. Don’t pass this place up. My boyfriend and I ate here on First Night Alexandria and it was packed. Despite how busy it was, we received wonderful food and wonderful service. I was pleased with the vegetarian options on the menu. We ordered the black bean burger, the nachos, and the shrimp and grits and everything was incredible. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place is beautiful as well; the pictures online drew us to eat here, and it definitely delivered. We were served by Molly who was a bright smiley ball of joy. I can imagine on a very busy night like the one we came on, she had a packed shift either in front of her or behind her by the time she served us, and yet she was energetic and attentive to us our whole meal. She was such a delight! If you're considering coming to this restaurant, I couldn't recommend it more highly. Thank you Chadwick for making our New Years (and our anniversary) special!
