We planned our group outing for Mardi Gras at Charlie Staples. We made a reservation for 10 people. They informed us upon arrival they were takeout only but would accommodate us. The New Orleans French Quarter decor was gone. Painted over. From there everything went down hill. The food came out in stages so that the first served was finished when the last served. Food was inaccurate for some and cold as well. We are an easygoing group but this was not as expected. Door dash order was wrong. Didn’t like the potato wedge fries. Sauce was not mixed. Before the buyout the food here was actually good. It taste bland now. I loved my fries and bread covered in sauce. Was there for a Christmas party very crowded. Our group was not told that the dining room was closed, had to put tables together in the bar/takeout area. Had very little room for our group. Food was excellent. Ordered the catfish received only 1 small fillet, Mac & cheese was dry and bland, the green beans tasted like they just came out of the can and they sprinkled on salt and pepper. Horrible experience. I called ahead of time asked if they had dine in. We wanted to take our son out for his 30th birthday. They said yes. Well yes you can eat inside but no waitress. We had to order our dinners to go. The cashier never told us food was done. She was not very friendly. When the food was done my son had to carry all the boxes (5)and sides to the table in his hands no tray. The coleslaw smelled spoiled and was gray. We did not eat it. The Mac and cheese was hard and dry. My husband tossed his food. Paid $70.00. Food and service was horrible. Never again. Would have given 0 stars if I could have. First and foremost when I called in to place an order I was put on hold for over 5 minutes which I know it gets busy sometimes. No problem!! Then when the phone was picked back up they hung up on me. Secondly, my food was cold like it’s just been sitting out when I was told 25 mins and got there in 15. Finally, I thought when you ask for a sandwich you get 2 breads? I mean isn’t that how you make a sandwich. Overall I will not order from here again. Ever since the switch it’s just gotten worse!!!
