I have lived in Helena 31 years and this was my first time visiting Chubby's. My friends took me there for my birthday for Prime Rib. I was pleased with my dinner and wow the portion! I had dinner for 3 days. The white chocolate Rasberry Cheesecake for my dessert for excellent. It was wonderful! The prices skyrocketed, like most other places. However, about a $5-10 increase on steak dishes seems a bit excessive. I do still enjoy going. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have lived in Helena for over 4 years now. One evening I had a yearning for prime rib. I had heard of Chubbies but was too lazy to drive (about 25 miles). Let me tell you, it is well worth the drive! The prime rib special on Friday and Saturday is fantastic folks. One other very important thing is that they have Mac & Jacs Amber Ale on tap.The icing on the cake for this Ole fart. You might try the prime steak salad. As with every dish I have tried, the portions are plentiful and delicious. Oh yea, the service is simply put. "GREAT"! Small, warm, inviting place to eat. Chubby's is less than 60 seconds from the freeway. Its the small town comfortable place to eat that appeals to me and the Mr. You can walk through the bar which has alot of seating to the dining room if you prefer not to sit on a barstool. The beautiful blonde bartender was lightening fast in offering service. The kitchen made the food rapidly :) Look at the pictures, the biggest, freshest, most hot and tender chicken strips we've ever seen. The blue cheese on the burger was huge and chunky and for blue cheese fans I recommend it. Definitely going to be our go to spot when we run errands North. First and last trip to Chubbys. Drinks were wrong 3 times, never did get a requested water. Steaks were wrong. Told server to forget the salads when they would have shown up after the meal. Mushrooms were good, steaks were good when they were corrected, onion rings were good. Foods good but not worth the frustration of the continual screwups. Ribeye was cooked to perfection! People are always leary of that small town bar & grill for diner. I promise you will not be disappointed. We were just passing through and needed diner. Food was awesome and staff was friendly. You couldn't ask for a better spot.
