Come here and eat nicely cooked cheeseburgers, sloppy Joe and chicken strips. Do not go away without eating good coconut ice cream, biscuits and chocolate custard. Took a weekend get away to go have a trip down memory lane, although this isn’t the same ice cream shop. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to stop at a nice cream shop in the same location as this one leaving the lake. Service was good for the most part. However, we reversed and went inside because the person ahead of us couldn’t get anybody to answer at the drive thru. Once inside the service was great! My family and I were Doozies #1 fans….at the old location. Since the new ownership and move the food has changed and unfortunately for the worse. The fries appear to no longer be hand cut (homemade), the Doozie sauce isn’t as good as it used to be, and the quality of the burgers has gone down hill as well. The old Doozies was 5+ stars all day. Unfortunately the new Doozies has pretty much lost a few very loyal customers from us. If things go back to what they were we’d excitedly return. I really liked my burger but my husband wasn't as pleased. We had a hard time being understood. My husband didn't want the sauce on his and just wanted mustard on the side. Both the burgers arrived dry, and when I asked for sauce for mine, the worker said they would have to charge extra. When I told her my burger had arrived dry, she looked at me like she didn't believe me. She gave me the sauce anyway. The chocolate malt was great, and the fries were nicely seasoned. I don't think I'll be able to get my husband to go back. The whole experience with the service was less than pleasant.
