Stopped in for dinner tonight. Made a last minute reservation online and they honored it and got us seated right away. Kharol was our server and she was fantastic. Informative and friendly and quick to keep drinks filled. Ordered the honey fried chicken and Mac & cheese, and the beef tips and pasta. Apricot bread pudding for dessert. The food was wonderful. Full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The building is beautiful and tastefully refreshed. If we were locals we would definitely return!! Got a gift card here figured it would be a good treat. Walked in and host looked concerned I had a reservation and had another person chime in as to where to sit us. Got stuck with the two top right off the top of the stairs in the transition between the two main spaces. Luck of the draw, would be forgiving if experience was good. Server came up didn’t introduce herself, immediately asked what to drink. Could tell she was in a rush and the tables in her section had been waiting for some time. Manhattan came without a cherry after a long wait. She crab soup came in and lived up to the hype. Unexpectedly thick but enjoyed it. Crab meat was delicate and tasted authentic. Ordered the duck breast special, menu said it came out med rare but server asked if I had any requests for temp and I said rare if they’re asking. It came out well done, was literally shocked. Told them I could not eat that and totally killed my desire to be there any longer. Pic for reference. Girlfriend got the chicken Asiago which had plenty of flavor and was cooked fairly proper. Was going to cancel the bottle of wine we ordered but the server opened it before presenting the bottle so we were stuck with it. Should’ve heeded the multiple warnings on improperly cooked meat there, can add my experience to the long list. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We love this restaurant. Having said that, our visit this evening lacked. Our meals were top-notch, as always, and a good value, but service, a key ingredient, was poor. The hostess greeted us with something like. "What can I do for you" vs. welcoming us, and she was perfunctory at best. Little eye contact, little warmth, and just doing her job. Sasha, our waitress, was OK and friendlier, but only visited us once maybe a minute into our meal to ask us how everything was. We'd just taken our first bites and couldn't really answer. She never returned after that until we had to track down a manager to get her and to get our bill. We'll be back, I expect, but hopefully next time the service will be better.
