An older oriental food restaurant, the decor hasn't changed in decades. The food quality is 50/50. I've had much better and much worse. This isn't quality you'll recommend, but you'll order take out when the mood strikes. The portion sizes are good and filling it honestly leaves enough for seconds every time. Overall, the building needs a complete remodel, and the food quality is what you are accustomed to with take out Chinese. Food is amazing. Occasionally, we will order one thing and get another. But it's worth it to get authentic food. Try the Mongolian beef with fried rice, it's my favorite! I was super sad to see that the sesame chicken was actually breaded sweet and sour chicken, with a brown sauce. 😢 sesame chicken is usually a fried corn starch chicken dish, like general tso or orange chicken. I didn't want to send it back because a friend was buying lunch and I didn't want to complain. I think there are better alternatives in the city. The crab bites were good. Nice atmosphere. Clean. First and last time we're ever going to this place. The service was awful from the beginning. The waitress was very rude to my oldest daughter and my wife for some reason and they're some of the nicest most considerate people and are always respectful. The waitress acted very impatient and bossed us around when we were trying to order or if we had simple questions about the food. The food and service was good and fairly cheap. For $14 each my boyfriend and I got the combination dinner, which includes your choice of soup, an egg roll, fried rice, a crab angel, and your choice of 16 different entrees. The food was hot and seemed fresh. My vegetables in my sweet and sour chicken were not cooked however. The crab angel was decent but a bit chewy and more cheddar tasting. The service was fairly good but it took forever to get the check and boxes. They also charged around $4 for a soda. Overall, pretty good for your money but nothing to write home about. The food wasn't that great, 3 stars at best. I had never seen a wonton soup with dark broth and ham before. The 3 delights dish I ordered had a very strong bamboo shot taste I didn't like. The hot and sour soup just tasted only of black pepper. The Mongolian beef and the egg rolls were good. The lady that served us was very nice and did a great job and the restaurant was clean so they get and extra star for that.

Amazing experience we're from Orlando Florida Where you can get Chinese food Is anywhere you want. was trying to find the perfect spot for my wife to me for some authentic Chinese food and my God Golden Phoenix thank God you are there. My wife is Originally from China and she says it's exactly like you're back home in China. You will never go hungry on how Much food you get with such a low price. A lot of the food there should've been priced at $20 or little bit more but I love that's so much can't wait to go back and have some more. I know our 1st stop when we come back to rapid we'll be the golden Phoenix. We put off trying Chinese in Rapid City because of the bad reviews. But finally in the area and it was lunch and we were hungry. Walked in the restaurant was very nice and full of people! So I was excited and it's been so long since having some good Chinese. Fried rice is bland. Mongolian beef small portion over sweet and bad quality meat. Orange chicken in dark sauce and not good flavor, no orange zest or any quality ingredients. The egg rolls a bad flavor. Even the Cheese Rangoon were stale and hard. How this restaurant is full don't understand. Super disappointing. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely amazing food and the best service around!!!! If you walk away hungry, it's your own fault!! Hot and Sour soup is the best we've had!! Ask for some plum sauce for the crab angles and egg rolls!!! Cynthia and her crew are AWESOME!!!!
