Gong Cha is one of my favorite drink places to visit whenever I feel like having a treat. Awhile ago, when I heard they were opening a store in Hackensack, I was very excited! It would be nearby and easy access to come by. Sadly, every time I go here it is not a good experience. The workers here come off as if they don’t remotely like their job: no smiling, nothing. They look rather miserable, which makes the atmosphere even worse. It is always a man with a beard and a short girl, don’t know their names. Regardless of who they are, they have poor customer service skills. I’ve had instances where they’d make my order wrong, but I made no attempt to correct them, as I simply just let it go. I had an experience awhile ago with one of the girls, I think who’s name is Patricia while reading the reviews. I asked for three drinks. When ordering two out of the three drinks, I asked if one could have no sugar/toppings. When I was made aware they cannot change the amount of sugar in the drink, I asked to just have both made, regardless of the sugar amount, but to still have no toppings. I paid, but when I saw her making the drinks she was making it incorrectly from what I asked for. I approached her to make her aware, showing the receipt. She stated that I should have been ‘’more’ specific. How specific can I get? Rather than blaming me, you could simply listen to what the customer is saying. I was specific enough to pay for three drinks, wasn’t I? So why is it being made incorrectly? I didn’t engage further, as I didn’t want to cause any issues. I simply wanted my drinks and leave. I haven’t come back since, and I probably won’t. Sad to say this, but this isn’t a welcoming establishment. I recommend to hire workers that have experience with customer service, and can properly display that verbally and physically. Service Dine in Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I went in but wasn't greeted right away because there was a group of people ahead of me, which is fine. However, after I waited and she was done with her previous orders, she still did not greet me and didn't even look at me like I wasn't even there. I asked if she can take my order and that's when she told me they were out of pearls. I would not have to have waited if she told me she was sold out on pearls from the start. Terrible service! The store look nice and clean, the guy who take my order gives nice customer service. But the drinks is 10/10. So good, will visit this location again in the future.

Came here with my mom. She ordered something that she didn’t like, so she kindly and politely explained to Patricia that she would like something else. After Patricia gave my mom an extremely hard time just to make another drink that’s not coming out of her paycheck, she hands the drink over while saying “if you don’t like it, I can’t make you a third drink just so you know.” This was so disgusting and rude to witness especially since that’s my mom and she was just trying to be satisfied with her order. Terrible terrible customer service. Patricia is extremely rude and she shouldn’t work in customer service if she hates customers. Isn’t it about customer satisfaction? Maybe smile and make sure your customers are happy and not wasting their hard earned money. Patricia needs to go! we ordered mango milk tea with normal milk tea! i honestly can't tell the difference in taste... the waiter looked very annoyed and didn't seem to like her job... Go get the other job if you are going to make customers uncomfortable :) Service Take out Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
Its so hot in here and they dont have air conditioning. Their bubble tea tastes weird. Also they use almond and oat milk in their regular taro tea which should really be made with whole milk to not ruin its original flavor. Price per person $1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

On Saturday afternoon (June 10th, 2023. Between 5:30pm and 6pm), while I was getting acquainted with my girlfriends mother for the first time, I decided to have us stop for a treat. My girlfriends mother had never had bubble tea before so I ordered her my favorite drink and we sat down to drink. Taro milk tea with bubbles and 50% sugar, Less ice. After getting the drinks I noticed that my drink was unusually sweet but I didn’t care to mention it because I’ve worked in customer service and I’ve made the same mistake before. On the other hand, my girlfriends mother took a sip but couldn’t enjoy the drink because it was too sweet. With her cup still full, She very nicely explained to the cashiers that she had never had boba tea before and asked if she could have another drink. There was a bit of respectful back and forth regarding what they are and aren’t allowed to do in the case that a customer isn’t satisfied with their drink. The employees agree to make her another drink and when the new drink is finally ready not only is it made incorrectly (my girlfriends mother asked for extra ice, there was little to none) but the young Hispanic woman named Patricia placed the drink on the counter and says “just letting you know, I can’t make it a third time” my girlfriends mother asks “what do you mean a third time” and Patricia responds “Just in case you don’t like it, I can’t make it a third time”. My girlfriends mother becomes visibly irritated but remains calm and says that she would never ask her to make a drink for the third time. I understand that customer service can be difficult and at times frustrating but making the effort to resolve our issue and then making such sarcastic/unnecessary comments such as those has honestly offset our evening and my first time meeting my girlfriends mother. The drinks itself are always good. The employees ( mainly the one with the black long hair and goth style) is extremely rude and unwelcoming. Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1
