The server was inattentive, seemed like we were a nuisance by asking her for more water, and kept disappearing for long periods of time. The appetizers took over 30 min to arrive, we quickly put in our food order before she disappeared again, and one of our apps was not delivered. She had not put the order in. We then ate apps that had turned stale from clearly sitting under a heat lamp too long. The empty dishes piled up on the table with our waitress nowhere to be found. Food came, my steak salad was inedible. The steak was ice cold, like it had been refrigerated instead of cooked for my salad. It was tough and hard to cut. The waitress never came back until she happened to walk by and I told her about the salad. She offered to take it away and never came back after that. We were with 2 other couple, we had to get home as we were not planning on a 2-3 hour dinner. We deciddd to leave money with our friends so we could get home. As we were leaving We then noticed the waitress next to the bar standing around doing absolutely nothing with one of the managers. We had to ask her to go to the table so they could pay. This is the 4th time I’ve been to a Grain. I swore after the last time I’d never go back. Our friends told us to try this one in Kennett as we’d only been to the Trolley and Lewes locations which were terrible as well. We regretted it. Never again. Save your self time, money and severe disappointment in the food. Go elsewhere to the many local restaurants that actually care about your business. Oh the irony...
