First timers. My wife and I like to visit different local coffee shops on Sundays. Very cute, clean place. I had an iced mocha latte and wife had hot mocha latte. Coffee flavor was very good. For a fairly new start up, I was very impressed, my only constructive criticism would be to offer more extras in the form of syrups to add to coffees. And I think adding frappes to the menu would definitely bring in a lot more customers during warm weather. I have a personal favorite of frappe that I helped another coffee shop(Cheshire) create and everyone that has gone there, or that I have made at home, call it their “crack” of all coffees(frappes). I will certainly be returning to Ground Up Coffee and with hopes of seeing one of the owners and I can share my favorite and additional extras which I feel would bring in a whole other group of customers. New shop in town is very nice and modern inside. Staff is friendly and service is very fast. Cappuccino was very good and a little above average priced but to be expected for a new place. I bought a chocolate chip muffin which was very dry. Not really edible, seemed to be a couple days old. If your going for coffee I’d definitely try it out, the bakery items didn’t seem great. Nice shop, dark roast was pretty solid. Baked goods looked nice, try a almond croissant and some biscotti, very pleased.

Absolutely loved it! The coffee was so good, both cold brew and espresso. The Cronuts are to die for, I’d imagine the other pastries are just as good. I have been twice and plan on returning tomorrow. A little pricey but for a start up, it’s expected. If you have the money and want coffee worth the money, support this small business! I had just purchased a latte from Starbucks and it wasn't very good. I was on my way home disappointed with my morning caffeine kick when I saw that Ground Up Coffee was open! I parked and went inside. The place is beautiful, sleek, and clean with a modern design that's warm and inviting. I received excellent service and the iced cafe latte with oat milk was DELICIOUS. It was the perfect blend of espresso and creamy oat milk with just the right amount of ice. Great location, GREAT COFFEE, friendly staff! A nice addition to the neighborhood. *Signage is too faint to read when driving by-and old coffee grind picture not easily recognizable as such-highly suggest you darken at least the letters COFFEE* will surely get you more drive by customers. Iced coffee and lattes are consistently excellent which is so rare for Hamden. Like really, really, really good iced lattes. I can't wait to see what else this shop adds to their menu, hopefully more food items too — which are also excellent! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
