Happy Lemon anywhere is usually pretty good, the main issue that I find is the staff. Overall, those Happy Lemon seems to be getting their act together and was clean, efficient, and nice. They must be doing better considering some of the other reviews I was reading about this location said the staff was struggling a bit. Regardless, I just wanted to leave a positive review saying that I had a good experience here and even though I live in Redmond, this one appears to be functioning a lot better than the one nearby, the Redmond town center.

Oreo Bubble Waffle
I am personally a fan of Happy Lemon and have been drinking their beverages since their first location opened at Bellevue Square. The reason I love this brand is because I used to drink it when I lived in China, and the recipe and bobas make me feel like I'm back in China.
Here are the reasons why I give it a rating of 3.5/5:
1. Customization is crucial for milk tea shops in the US, considering the diverse customer base with different tastes from various countries. During my visit to the Kirkland location with a friend, we requested to have milk in the Strawberry Black Tea. However, the cashier informed us that they were not allowed to accommodate this request, despite the menu stating that customization of sweetness and ice level may deviate slightly from the standard. It would be more convenient if they allowed for more adjustments and substitutions.
2. Effective management is always important, especially when you have a store manager. Unfortunately, during our visit, it seemed that there was a lack of proper management in this store. The manager we encountered appeared to be poorly trained, impatient, and repeatedly stated that they couldn't customize the drink. We were not being difficult customers; all we asked for was a bit of milk added to our drink. We explained that we were confident with the flavor since we had previously ordered it at the Bellevue Square location and loved it. However, because they refused to add milk, we requested to have milk on the side. To our surprise, they charged us $4.75 for a small amount of milk, which was quite unreasonable considering we could have bought a whole bottle of milk from the gas station next to their store.
3. We also asked for cheese foam on the side since they couldn't add milk to our cup. We wanted to be able to easily mix the milk with the black tea. However, when we received the cheese foam, it was not enough to fill the cup, as shown in the attached photo.
In summary, Happy Lemon needs to make adjustments to their management practices as there is room for improvement in this aspect.

Clean, new Happy Lemon spot in downtown Kirkland. Got street free parking out front. Went in the first week and they're new staff so a bit more training before everything is mastered. Same happy packaging! Appreciated the IG coupon offer for a grand opening free milk drink! Just love their bubble waffles! New staff so they aren't fully trained. One of our drinks was missing bobba.

Always very friendly staff. Always clean.
Never too busy so it's a quick pick up and seating is plentiful with a friend or 2. If you don't want a sweet drink get the lowest sugar level possible. Outlets are all around.
Only drawback is limited storefront parallel parking and free parking in the back garage is great but if it's raining you'll get rained on when you walk from the garage out and around the corner to the entry.

I am so glad, we don't have to go to Bellevue Square for Happy Lemon! Great lighting and natural window lights. The bobaistas were nice and were great problem solvers. Its has a Tik Tok/ IG friendly vibe, so no tables and don't expect to be here to do work. Happy Lemon is always good. It is the first time where I went to a boba shop without seeing any Asian workers lol. There's few parking space around the corner under the building, enjoy this janky photo.

So happy, I ran it back the next day. Brown sugar is standard, but Taro is fire.
