The food and service were excellent. I'm providing 4 stars only because it's not authentic Nashville hot as it doesn't have the glaze. IYKYK. However, I still highly recommend it. Pros: customer service was awesome. The sweet tea was great. Cons: the food tasted like the grease wasn’t changed. Food tasted burnt. My fish was dry and the drumettes were salty. There was no way to tell which fish was mild or not without having to try it. The fries were over cooked/lukewarm and had no season on them. I saw this restaurant posted on IG and wanted to try it. The young lady greeted my son and I as we walked in. After I told her I had a pick up order, she checked to make sure it was ready, it wasn’t. I didn’t mind waiting some minutes over. You are getting your food cooked fresh. I think the overall experience was nice. Would I try again, yes. I’m all about giving second chances. Try for yourself and you be the judge. Wow! This place is amazing. Nashville Hot Chicken here in SC! You don’t have to get hot chicken, but I highly recommend it. Wife had chicken and waffles…they were excellent. And the potato salad, well it makes you wanna slap your grandma for letting you down all these years! Extremely nice staff, wanting to make sure everything is perfect. I respectfully disagree with the sign in front that claims "chicken is worth the wait." My recent experience at this establishment contradicts that statement. Despite waiting for 30 minutes to receive a chicken sandwich, I observed five individuals who arrived after me being served before me. It became evident that these individuals were locals who had a connection with the cook. While the old lady behind the counter was kind, the young men in the back seemed more interested in being seen than providing efficient service to waiting customers. If you happen to be a traveler passing through and wish to support a locally owned business, I would advise against choosing this particular establishment. Your patronage will not be appreciated here. However, I must admit that the fried chicken leg quarter I ordered was the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, I lost my appetite due to the frustrating experience. On a positive note, I highly recommend cooking the chicken leg quarter in an air fryer at 370 degrees for 8 minutes – the result is truly phenomenal. “Begun the Chicken Wars Have”. Curious about the reviews and location (which has been many restaurants over the years) and was quite impressed upon my first visit. While they do not win many style points, this is an old school, throwback, classic Southern chicken shack! And the food was darn good!!had the 1/4 dark chicken, fries, slice of bread (that’s how you know they are authentic!), and a sweet tea. The spices and preparation on the chicken was mouth watering delicious. On the list to see you again soon! Not for me. In general, I don't prefer the southern, greasy food, but I brought my father here. We were less than impressed with the kids' chicken tender meal. $7 for 1 soggy tender, a few fries, and a piece of bread. That portion size is not in line with the price. It was my first time there, having lunch with friends. It took 20 minutes for the order to come, but was well worth it. I got the chicken sandwich with hella hot(?) sauce. They asked “are you sure??”. Oh yeah. Anyway, it wasn’t just stupid hot, it was a very flavorful kinda hot. Might be too much for some, but if you can handle ghost pepper sauces, then this will be no problem for you. The fries were crispy and fresh. The owner also came to the table to check on us. My mother came back one day with this scrumptious chicken saying she found our new place!! Just left and I must say, it's WONDERFUL!! Spoke with this truly nice young lady come to find out she has ownership. The staff were extremely nice, good smiles. They have a food trailer now as well, going to look forward to seeing these guys so great. Best chicken I've had I think. Look forward to trying the fish sandwich, that's if I can go and not get the chicken. The wings are good quality. Not little baby wings you get other places, but good quality chicken wings. If your in a hurry, you might want to call ahead of time, as it's all made to order. They have done in tables available. Hometown ownership y'all. Go check them out, it's great. Will be back soon. Thanks for the great first visit. Oh yeah, they have a very nice menu as well, all the way to Lobster tail!! Go support local business.
