Dining here is a delightful experience. I love that you make a meal with whatever is tickling your fancy at the moment and, while you would never order what you made at a sit down restaurant, you absolutely love what's been cobbled together. The people running the giant wok do a great job entertaining you while your food cooks. I'd be cautious if you have allergies, food tends to get mixed. This place was disgusting. Everything was sticky (the table, the menu, the chairs, the soy sauce on the table), and the food was terrible. I barely ate anything because I thought it tasted like I was going to get food poisoning, my girlfriend was starving so she ate about half of her plate and she DID get food poisoning. We stayed because I had a good memory of going to HuHot in Colorado when I lived there about 7 years ago and I was able to make excuses for the red flags. Maybe it was just because it was the end of the night, maybe they were just rushing, maybe stuff was sticky just because there’s a lot of kids there, we made plenty of excuses to just try it. Our meal was about 47 bucks (for just the two of us…), I mentioned the food tasting really off to our waitress, and she just shrugged and smiled and said “okay, here’s your check”. I don’t expect to get comped for making a poor decision to stay in a restaurant that I already thought was kinda gross, but I do expect someone to respond better than that. I was trying to give her a heads up that something wasn’t right, maybe the grill wasn’t hot enough and wasn’t cooking the meat well enough? I didn’t have an issue with paying and never coming back, but the fact she brushed off what I said, then subsequently my girlfriend got violently ill when we got home is just not okay. I’m so disappointed. To the manager- please, tell your staff that if someone says something about the food tasting off, please check the temperature on the grill, make sure people are cooking the shrimp/other meats long enough to kill the bacteria. HuHot Layton is the most amazing restaurant I have ever been to! Not only do they accommodate perfectly with my gluten allergy, but the staff is wonderful! Nikole was our waitress (and manager) today and she made me and my mom’s day extra special. She took time out of her day to stop and listen and chat with my mom who was having a very rough day. Nikole truly cared and was the most kind waiter and manager! We love her and we love this restaurant!!❤️ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I went to the Layton location tonight for our date night. When we arrived, we realized we had only 25 minutes until close. The hostess was gracious, and was very prompt to address any food allergies, which me being gluten free, was very appreciated! The food was wonderful! The Chef’s are always so pleasant and smile when both receiving and returning our meals. Tonight however, I WISH I would have paid closer attention to our waiters name. He was absolutely amazing. He was so prompt with our drinks, had a wonderful demeanor, and was so kind and polite! I emphasis this our waiter did not seem deterred by the clock what so ever, and even though we were still finishing our meals after closing time, our drinks were topped off and our needs were absolutely met during our entire experience. My husband and I want to express our sincere gratitude to our waiter for his positivity and his amazing customer service! We are so grateful to him for making our experience one we will never forget! Thank you to the staff and chefs, as we have been to the Layton location many times and highly appreciate the level of customer service we always receive! Thank you again! We went back for the first time in years.. There were no wine or alcohol offerings. The food was how I remembered except no lime or lemon wedges.. The service was outstanding. We witnessed some sketchy patrons filling their bowls up three times the size of the bowl, pressing as much food as they could into it. This was strange. I felt like the place needed a deep cleaning. Great food, good presentation, although not Benihana style. Lots of variety in choice of protein, veggies, and delicious sauces. Prices are a little high, so be sure to fill your bowl if you're doing takeout.
