Hy-Vee has finally lost me as a customer even though I only live a block and a half away! I am so tired of having a grocery list and them not having half of what's on it, available. I have tried time and time again and find that I can never complete my grocery shopping at their store. Also, It has become quite prevalent that they carry mostly Hy-Vee brands. I'm tired of not being able to find the well-known brands I have become accustomed to. I have tried their brands and they just are not of the quality of other brands. Their meat market is slim and choices of cuts are minimal and the bakery is not consistent in their offerings and the quality from one day to next.
I am now a customer Price Chopper, I seem to be having much better luck going there... Goodbye HyVee!
On Tuesday I called to follow-up on the status of a NEW Rx I'd been expecting since Friday. I have a speech impediment which the staff member hadn't the patience for and assumed that I was being difficult and cut me off mid sentence to speak w the Pharmacist. The Pharmacist initially was kind and helpful but became defensive over what I assume she thought was the same assumed attitude that her staff member assigned to me without any consideration for the industry that they work in, HEALTHCARE, a.k.a, helping people with health issues.....duh. I am used to this assumption in public but because I work in Healthcare AND I HAVE HEARD OF, BELIEVE IN, AND PRACTICE TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, I decided to call the Pharmacist back and explain that I have a speech issue and my voice and words are constricted as such and that it is often misunderstood as "attitude" and that I was simply trying to express my reasons for calling and the most up to date information I had. She was so extremely dismissive of this information, her response was simply and exactly, "Okay....." and remained silent. Embarrassed, I thanked her and disconnected the call. I will NOT apologize for my disability and I will NOT pay cash only to be treated with so much disrespect and I hope that whomever is over the Pharmacy Department as a whole at HyVee will provide education about customer service, Trauma Informed Care and kindergarten decency. I'm no longer embarrassed for me, I'm embarrassed for all of you. I am patient and kind every time I am there and over the phone you treat me like a drug seeker when ultimately you failed to fill my Rx and I didn't complain, I simply placed yet another call (as this is routine for some unknown reason and pass the buck excuse) for follow-up. Shame on you, how dare you shame me because of my inability to communicate without pause. You disappoint me with that behavior and then to slap me in the face when I tried to mend the tension by providing you with context AND REQUEST FOR YOU TO INFORM YOUR STAFF TO USE BETTER JUDGMENT. It's not my speech disability that is causing you to be so busy that you have lost all sense of customer service, WHICH IS YOUR JOB, P.S. Do better. Pretend that every caller is your family member. Pretend like people other than you matter.
It's big, but their prices are higher than other Hy-Vee's. And I couldn't find any dried beans anywhere. Why have a large health section and ethnic section, but only sell canned beans?
Well lit, clean and well-stocked; staffed by an army of teenagers and their managers. Lol They have their own police force? The cafeteria is always good. Deli has the best roast beef. Alcohol side has nearly everything one could need on any given day. Never been to the restaurant.
I used to really like this Hyvee, but the focus on surveillance and anti-shoplifting measures has made the checkout experience so cumbersome. Only a handful of self checkout lanes are open now, and the ones that are constantly throw out false alerts. I left my prescription bag in my basket when checking out, and the overhead camera pulled up a picture of it and called it an “unscanned item”. I had to wait for someone to come over and unlock it so I could check out. This also happens if you open new shopping bags when bagging your items. The store also seems dirtier than usual. It seems like they stopped focusing on employee retention and wellness and strictly focus on making sure they can watch you as closely as possible. It feels draconian. Not a very welcoming environment.
Wonderful people and GREAT service.
JUST BeWaRe of the lady person with some dull shade of red. She CLEANS out in the restrooms very FOUL MOUTH PERSON.
Has been the only negative experience in 8 years.
I have been purchasing HyVee Thanksgiving turkey meals for the past 6 years, and we have not been disappointed. The turkey is moist. The stuffing is exactly how I make it, and the sides are great. My grandson's love the white Mac and cheese. I can only say good things about their catering. Only the turkey leg bone was left.
Very high prices. My goodness 5.29 for Doritos? 3.89 for Sara Lee bread when I've seen it at dollar tree for 1.25. 73 percentage hamburger was 4.89 a pound. I don't get it. Oh and don't go to deli that place wants 20 buck a roos for 8 pieces of chicken oh my god it's expansive
Great store, always neat and clean with great employees who will actually help you find what your looking for! Always uniformed cops watching over the place so thugs don't have a chance! LoL. Bravo men and women in blue, I feel safer going here!
Like other hyvee locations. Produce was horrible, some visibly rotted. .
Completely missing several produce option. They have rows dedicated to every conceivable apple variant, but no cherries, corn, alfalfa sprouts. Their cuts of meat are terrible and fatty.
Go next door to price chopper instead.
