Favorite thing was the mixed soda drinks soooo good( I got a peachy coconut one, mango was good as well) no free refills though. Well the issue I had with this place tonight was we ordered a Italian penini and suppose to include three types of meat. The server gave it to us and it only had two super thin slices of salami inside it tasted really good but I was real hungry 😋 so why did we not know they were out of the pepperoni until we called it out and that's when she said they put an extra very thin slice of salami and she didn't even let us know that before I ordered. Kinda long wait for food although I'm okay personally with that knowing that they were cooking and hopefully it's fresh is what I like to believe when it takes a while. Really my only complaint is the service, the lack of ingredients and there was also only one stall and one bathroom so the bathroom is only one at a time which isn't a big deal but could be better if there were a men's and women's at least. My husband and I had our first Valentines out in over 18 years and we chose to celebrate at JaK*s Place and we were so happy we did! The dinner was spectacular and the service was top-notch. Everything was not only delicious but it was so well displayed and presented. They made us feel special when the Chef brought us our meals and chatted for a quick minute. This is a clean place with good food and an excellent food and drink menu! Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. There were many employees and it was busy, but there doesn't seem to be much team work happening. It took too long to be greeted or even acknowledged. It seemed that everyone had an assigned job and refused to help other staff if something was needed. Tasks like rolling silverware was more important than getting requested glasses of water. The table by us had to ask a few times for water. The girls behind the bar had no issue talking badly about the people getting impatient for their waters. This place could be top notch, but the wait service would need to step up A LOT. Work together, check on your patrons, and be FRIENDLY! Immediately welcomed and seated. Friendly staff, clean and fun atmosphere. I ordered the Reuben and husband and son both ordered burgers. We all enjoyed our meals and agreed the fries are the best we’ve had yet in the area! Finally somewhere that knows how to make a French fry! We also split an order of zucchini fries and they were delicious. Have never had a flavored soda like theirs before and was pleased, the tigers blood was great. We had lunch at Jak's Place today & what a treat. The service was great with no wait to get to our table & the food was spectacular. My husband & I split the turkey sandwich on gluten free bread & it was great. We also had homemade onion rings (which I know aren't gluten free, but I couldn't resist). They were fabulous!!! My home is only a few miles from there location so I went in the other night to give them a shot. I sat at the bar and Courtney was my host. She was awesome! Very friendly, checked in with me often to see if I needed anything along with small talk, even when the place was full of people! I have gone in a few times since and same experience, everyone was very friendly and service was great! There was live music as well that added to the chill environment. Ryan made us the most amazing whiskey sour and a seasonal drink with cinnamon maple sour(I think that what it's called). Good was great! I will give you that. Service horrible we sat here twice for over 45 minutes with empty drinks. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! They did attempt to clean them but that didn't make a difference, still gross. Floaters in the beer, and black stuff in the cocktails. On a night you have a big event going on across the street you think they would have a fully stocked bar, no high noon, no bbq sauce, no jam for the burger. We could hear all the servers would all huddle by the kitchen and talk about customers. Enjoyed lunch at Jacks for the first time recently and it was excellent. This should be a go to place if you live in the area. Your favorite sandwiches, burgers and finger steaks done right. I had a perfect Reuben with crispy fries and my friend had an amazing cheeseburger. Very friendly service staff in a clean and inviting environment. Highly recommend!! JaK*s is a little confusing on the outside. The dark glass made the place look empty and closed. And outdoor menu signage made it look like a drive-through. More, the entrance didn’t look obvious as it looked very plain. Had we not spotted silhouettes of wait staff walking, we would have thought the place closed. But, thankfully, it wasn’t. We hadn’t read reviews as we chose this simply because another restaurant was closed despite being “Open” on Google Maps. As Bob Ross once said, “There are no mistakes… only happy accidents.” And this was truly one of them. Initially, we didn’t know what to expect. The way the food was planned, prepared and executed showed skill of a much higher caliber than a traditional diner. In fact, the onion rings were easily the best I’ve ever had – crispy, crunchy, tasty, and not overly greasy. The chili was a gourmet interpretation of the classic. And the cheeseburgers were delightful – not at all “burnt and bitter” but a carefully calibrated gourmet flavor profile that places it above the traditional diner-style burgers.
