I’m from Boston and Joey Nova’s is hands down the best East Coast pizza in Minneapolis. Pizza in New England, New York, New Jersey is not something to fill your stomach it’s a religion. If you own a pizza place and your pizza sucks you should lose your business license. Period. The dough has perfect soft , crisp and semolina undercarriage is perfect. Sauce- perfect tangy not sweet and cheese if I had to guess is full fat low moisture mozzarella maybe Grande or Bacio. Provolone is no no. Joey’s nails it. I live an hour from here and will be coming in soon for another cheese pie slightly crispy. Take it from a pro, pizza tastes better a little crispy. I find most pizza in MN is undercooked. Joey’s is so good. Joey’s is # 1 for traditional pizza, Young Joni is # 1 for Neapolitan. Black Sheep is # 2. Run to Joey’s. Undisputed Champion.
Pizza here is always excellent! However, the ordering ahead process has been consistently bad for us. We are often told the pizza will be ready within a certain window of time, and find ourselves waiting 20+ minutes longer than expected for our order to be ready.

The service is always phenomenal! Quick, friendly, attentive. The food is amazing. We love their pastas! I got the Baked Ziti. Such a great price for the amount of food you get - HUGE portions! you won't leave hungry, and may even have leftovers depending on your appetite. 😉 Never disappointed here. We're always excited to return and try more things. PS try their malts! They're fabulous!

Great Pizza
The best pizza joint in MN! We’ve been fans of Joey Nova’s for years. Great tasting pizza and a very nice family atmosphere.
2023 Update: Unfortunately, quality has gone WAY down hill. Undercooked pizza in our takeout order and thin soupy slop during our last dine-in visit. We’re going to take a break from visiting for a while.

Great Pizza
(Last visited 4/26/2022.) Working at my company's headquarters for a couple of weeks and a co-worker of mine mentioned that this place has AMAZING pizza and some good wings. So... I came here for lunch... then again a few days later! Lol.
Atmosphere/Appearance: Located in what I thought was Excelsior, is actually Tonka Bay right off of some water is this gem. It's in a plaza with a few other businesses and a part of a private parking lot. The inside isn't too crazy. You walk in and you are greeted by grand smells of pizza cooking in their huge steel ovens! The menu is overhead and the dining area is to the left. I remember a lot of exposed wood, plastic benches and just a classic looking pizza joint.
Service: I can't remember the young lady's name, but Sydney or Candace come to mind. Lol. Whoever it was that took care of us was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. However, all you do is just place your order at the counter, take the number they give you and go sit down then wait for you food to be brought out to you. Drinks are self-serve as well.
Food: Throughout my visits I've had the chance to check out 3 of their wing flavors and a couple of toppings on their pizzas. The wow factor here is about big the slices are. They literally don't even fit onto a single plate. The edges hang over rim of the plate. Lol. So for lunch you can order the pizza + salad combo and it totally fills you up. The wings are also enormous and quite delicious I might add! I'd definitely get them again. Cajun and the Buffalo were my favorite, but the BBQ wasn't too bad either.
Value: A single order of wings will give you 6 and it'll cost you $10.00. Double your order for $16.50. Like I mentioned, they wings are huge so I think this is a pretty good value. Any time a day you can get a cheese slice + salad + drink for only $12.50. Toppings will cost extra of course.
In conclusion, I loved this place. However, coming for lunch and eating heavy makes for a slow rest of the work day. Lol. I ain't trippin' though, sometimes that's what's necessary!

Great Pizza
Amazing food and awesome staff! I came here with my significant other for a causal dining experience, and that was exactly what we got. When you walk in, you order and pay at a counter. They have a big menu on the wall with everything that you could ever want. The items can be a little pricey, but nothing crazy. You then can seat yourself at one of their booths or tables, and they will bring you your food. The food tasted like authentic New York food, and the seasoned fries were probably the best fries I’ve ever had. The portion sizes are huge, so you’ll definitely have more for later (a total plus). I recommend coming here if you love Italian, crave pizza, or just want to try something new!

One of the best pizza places in town. The buffalo chicken pizza is my favorite. You can get a pop,a huge salad and probably the biggest slice of pizza you've ever seen for $12. The pizza slice is bigger than your head lol. Great place, highly recommend

I want to rate higher, but one flaw held me back. the good: price point, the re-crisp up for slices, the size of slices, the white was perfect--crisp crust, light, airy. The pepperoni was greasy, but that comes with the topping. The flaw: from 1/2 way up the pepperoni slice to just before the crust, in the center/fold point of the slice, the top half (closer to the sauce, cheese, topping) was doughy. I'm talking squish between your fingers undercooked. That bottom 3rd of the slice was perfect, But higher up that dough flavor started to come through and that's when I noticed that it was actually the top layer of the dough itself. Maybe it was just a lunch rush? I will definitely give it another chance.
EDIT 11/17/21: Full Extra Large 1/2 Pepperoni, a slice of white, 2 chocolate cannoli's and it was all excellent! If there were a systematic problem with the crust then this giant pizza wouldn't have made it and yet it was bendy but crisp all the way from center to edge. Perfect! Upped my score.
