You can’t go wrong with joey if you want to make a memorable night with your special one. We sat at the balcony on a windy February night and suddenly the wind stopped and we had blast by the fire having this fancy patio all to ourselves. The food and beer are amazing . Nice restaurant with views. The food is disappointing. Two of us ordered three main courses because the plates lack main ingredients. The steak, I'm certain, was no bigger than a 4 oz. Cut and it wasn't a good quality steak. We had informed the kind waitress that we don't want deep fried oily food. We first ordered Szechuan Prawn lettuce wrap and realized it's breaded and deep fried. So two minutes after ordering, we asked her to kindly change it to chicken after she confirmed the presents were deep fried breaded kind. So what did we receive? Oily, breaded chicken instead. She offered to pack the remaining food and we obviously declined. If it was good, we would have eaten it. The Tuna Poke was alright but was missing... Tuna. We literally searched for the small cubes of tuna. There were very few. This explains why the tuna is mixed with all sorts of other stuff instead of being featured on its own in the center of the plate. This does not make for repeat customers. Joey Shipyards is absolutely fantastic. Great location (at the Quay), with one of the best views in North Vancouver. Food was better than expected (sushi was top notch, as were all the apps) and the service was exceptional. They were super busy on Valentine’s Day night, but it didn’t detract from the service one bit. Dana was our server and she was perfectly attentive, but not too assertive and knew exactly when to come by the table. Very personable and made us feel appreciated. Highly recommended for dates or really any occasion you want to treat yourself. Ask for Dana!
