As a whole, Las Fontanas seems like a pretty solid Mexican restaurant. I was only passing by New Braunfels, but I could see this place being a good staple restaurant for locals. Key highlights for me included: the warm salsa, good charro beans, and friendly service. Some draw backs included: The portion size pictured is the “large” chicken fajitas which claimed to feed 3-4 people (for my group, this was definitely not enough chicken). Also, the corn tortillas came out a bit cold and stale (to be fair they did tell us that the flour tortillas are the ones made in house, but we try to stick to gluten free as much as possible). THE most unique Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at. The use of fresh vegetables that aren't cooked to death along with the sauces and presentation make the food delicious. Literally everything about this restaurant is so good. Let me start with the food, the food is so good that even looking at it was mouthwatering, and don't get me started on the drinks. No other restaurant has prices like these ones. they are pretty cheap but have insane quality and taste. The service is even better than any other restaurant i know, they are so nice and they even go out of their way to ensure we have a good lunch/dinner and the rest of our day. We came on NBHS senior fundraiser night. It was so busy which we expected. We decided to order take out rather than wait for a table. The host was very kind and up front about the wait time for take out. He was patient and attentive even with so many people. Our to go order was correct and hot. The female bringing out the food was also kind, helpful, and patient. Thanks for supporting our seniors. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Amazing waiter, he went out of his way to accommodate us. We were looking for a hotter salsa, and he did not disappoint. He gave us two hotter options. The guacamole could have been a dish by itself. The main dishes were amazing. I ordered the New Mexico hatch pepper stew and Stuffed Avocado, which comes with a street taco, also a puffy taco it was too much food for one person. The Jalisco chicken was an amazing large delishes dish, also. Don't forget to grab a mint on your way out the door. Las Fontanas has delicious Tex-Mex food that doesn’t disappoint. I always treat myself to lunch there after a hair appointment in New Braunfels. Today I had grilled chicken with green chili sauce and melted queso blanco. Warm salsa and tortillas chips are provided before the meal which is a nice surprise as most places serve cold salsa. This is My second time at this location, because it’s very convenient to my home. To be honest, I didn’t know there were two locations in Nb, Tx. Which is good to know. I ordered their Stuffed Avocado Platter w/Chicken Fajita. It comes w/half an avocado lightly battered stuffed w/Monterey jack cheese and choice of meat over Spanish rice, a street taco and a stuffed tostada. This meal was super delicious and plentiful. My husband had their Chicken Fajita Chimichanga and my nephew had their Cheese enchilada plate. Both of them really liked their meals. Our waitress Alejandra A. was very responsive and efficient. The ambiance of this location is nice. I truly enjoyed the live entertainment of two guitarists performing Christmas music while we dined. Overall we were all super pleased w/the food and experience.
