Lou Bequet Restaurant in Cogne

Lou Bequet is a charming restaurant located in the small village of Cretaz, just off the main road from Aosta to Cogne. The decor is simple yet elegant, with a cozy corner providing a great view of the valley. The menu features traditional Valdaostan cuisine with a modern twist, using local ingredients and seasonal dishes. The starters and desserts are generous in size, while the mains are a bit on the small side. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and attentive, and the staff are multilingual and extremely obliging. The food was excellently prepared, well presented and delicious, with a special mention going to the vegetable tarte with courgette flowers and saffron sauce, the strozzapreti with sweet onion cream, and the delicate steamed local trout. Desserts were also tasty and balanced. Prices are fair for the quality offered. All in all, Lou Bequet is an excellent restaurant that offers superb quality cooking and a great dining experience. Highly recommended.
