I work downtown and stopped into Mammitas for a coffee. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about their products. Upon their recommendation, I ordered a Horchata and it was the best drink I've ever had! I didn't get food this trip, but I've had it before and it is excellent. Mammitas is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Iowa City! The owner Jacqueline is the sweetest and welcomes everyone that walks through the door. This place is AMAZING! The vibe is cozy and adorable and the owner is so sweet, answered all of my questions kindly and showed me the most popular options when I wasn’t familiar with some things. I had an iced horchata and it was truly amazing and my niece had a smoothie and the breakfast sandwich that she said was the best she’s had in Iowa in two weeks here! Wow. In town for work. I was driving around looking for a Starbucks or something similar so I could send some emails and grab a coffee and a snack. I happened across a small cute local coffee spot, so I tried it. What a fantastic local coffee shop. The food is incredible. The Cuban sandwich is killer. The owner Jackie was a delight. This is a fantastic coffee shop that also serves food. Their Horchata lattes are amazing. Coffee comes out piping hot and is reasonably priced. Tried their choco flan for the first time today and it was incredible, better than what Ive had in south Texas. Highly recommend. Family owned and run establishment with mom, daughter, son in law. Stopped in during parents weekend with 3 of us. Ordered a drink for each, and also ordered a Cuban and a breakfast sandwich. My goodness, big sandwiches, great drinks, and the proprietors are fantastic. Super friendly, chatted with all customers, and checked on everyone who was there. Just can't say enough... great experience. Delicious breakfast in downtown Iowa city! I had the Horchata latte and deluxe breakfast sandwich, both of which tasted great. My friend had an iced dulce de Leche coffee. The owner was the one who helped us out, and she was very friendly while helping us order since it was our first time eating there. Would definitely go back! I came here in between a conference visit in March and the menu looked incredible I wished I could have tried everything! I love the concept of coffee and flowers - they could even blow up balloons and make customizations. Plus, the had conchas 😍 The staff was super friendly and sweet! Such a cozy place in downtown IC, perfect for a quick bite. My husband and I visited for breakfast; we had the chorizo burrito and it's ah-mazing! Super filling and so tasty!! The Dulce de Leche and Horchata Fraps are really good too. The staff is really nice, they smile and greet you so kindly. I recommend you visit this coffee shop whenever you get a chance.
