Friday 2.16.24 i hosted my birthday dinner on the rooftop of this resturant. When i say the service was 10/10 i mean that. The staff was so helpful and professional. From the day i inquired about the space to the day of my event they were on it. the food was a 10, all the guest loved. everything was fresh. The bartenders were amazing, best green tea shots i evert had. Tom and Gigi were absolutely amazing. I cant wait to host another event here. Thank you so much to the staff for making my birthday event so special. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

At first glance, this just looks like a typical kind of streetside bar/restaurant that you'd think serves some good beer & hard drinks and maybe a nice burger. But boy, the chef and the kitchen punch WAY above their weight. You'll find burgers (including a lamb burger), but you'll also find delectable shared plates like herb-mint whipped feta spread with hot honey and grilled figs, perfectly cooked scallops served over polenta with a luxurious treatment that leaves them looking less like sea and more like little medallions of filet, and truffle cream gnocchi. There are many Spanish-inspired creations and lots of variety, including some outstanding vegan entries. Well worth a visit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Came here on January 6th for the first time. We were headed to Lighthouse Bistro but they closed early this day. We walked in to Metropolitan and it wasn't very busy. Reviews for here are generally pretty good so we decided to come here and give it a chance. It took 10 minutes for a waitress to come over and give us water/take additional drink orders after we sat and we had to get her attention to place the order. Since we waited so long we placed our drink and food order at the same time. The cocktails were the best part of the experience. All the waitresses were more interested being on their phones than checking in with customers. There was one point where the hostess and all waitresses were on their phone at the hostess station. We needed more water and had to yell to get their attention. Food seemed very delayed for the restaurant being so empty. Only a hand full of tables were occupied and a few at the bar. 15 customers total, maybe. I got the breakfast burger, it was good. No complaints really. My partner got the Benedict and a beet salad. The salad was pretty good. The Canadian bacon on the benedict was super dry and tough. The hollandaise sauce didn't taste like hollandaise at all. Very salty and super thick, unlike other hollandaise we've had. We might give Metropolitan another chance in the future. Maybe sitting at the bar would be better? We really have no interest in table service again with how terrible the service was and how the waitresses were more interested in their phones than checking their tables. Maybe because it was a slow day? Not sure, but as somebody who works in customer service this was a terrible experience.
