The absolute best Japanese food in central Iowa. We go here every 6 weeks and we've never had a bad experience. We've tried most items on the menu and it's hard to decide because every meal is great. Our very picky kids even love the food here. There is Japanese soda in fruity flavors and they've tried every flavor. When our kids have colds they ask us to get Mizu's miso soup to bring home. Very, very good authentic Japanese food! From the kitchen chefs who make Sushi as it should be, to them giving you chopsticks as a default, this place is my biggest go to for a bite of Japanese, and the prices really aren't all that high for the sheer quality and volume of food. Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! I got a veggie bento box, it was very filling. Love the atmosphere here. Comfortable, delicious definitely need to check it out! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

This was my first time here having dinner with my daughter. We went after the dinner rush so service was very good! The place has a cool ambiance to it. The decor kept you busy while you wait and eat, and yes the food was amazing! Just perfect. So many vegetarian options and all prepared sooooo wel.. And check out my photo about their presentation🤤🤤l! This is definitely going to be my go to place from now on. Also this side of Ankeny was missing a good sushi place, we got a great one instead🤗🤗 Their sakes are really damn good too. And yes, the staff is really cordial as well. As I said, just perfect :) Highly recommend 👍

Everything was great. We came in at around 5 on a Friday night & we were seated right away. Our server was so nice & personable and we had drinks on the table within minutes. The food also came out pretty quickly & it was delicious! The atmosphere is also nice & everybody working was very polite.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted with warm wood, carved in traditional Japanese style. The semi private room in the back looks so inviting and a great place for good old "after work drinks" with coworkers. The bang for buck was definitely worth it. I left with another dinner for later. Definitely the place to grab some sushi or ramen in Ankeny. Second time around: I got the Sashimi Deluxe and a bottle of sake. The sake recommendation from my server was definitely very good and the fish on the ice was fresh fresh fresh. At first I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish all of my order, but when I saw the portion sizes, my confidence grew and my expectations lessened. This time I did not feel like my money was worth it. If you haven't spent any time engaging the "Sushi Culture," I would ask for instructions on how to get the most out of the Sashimi Deluxe. This dish is for experienced raw fish eaters. Because it was a good experience for myself, I won't deduct my original rating, but I hope this serves as cation to novice contours.
