I ordered grilled pork chops because it was the Friday special, I asked them to make them spicy... It was entertaining to hear the kitchen staff and the waitress trying to figure out what to put on them to make them spicy! They did a great job, they had a little kick and were pretty good! I came in late so service was a tiny bit slow because everybody was trying to get their side work done so they can go home, but I got to really feel the work atmosphere amongst everybody and it seems like it's a really fun place to work! Everybody was super friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend stopping here. They have everything on the menu! I wanted to try so many different things! Stopped in for breakfast, food was delicious service was outstanding. Thanks Chad for being a wonderful waiter. Will definitely return to try dinner, update to follow. Tonight was not the night to go. The waitress (or kitchen staff) got my order wrong, chicken fried chicken was less than par, grease poured out of the breading into the gravy. They wanted to up charge over a dollar to add salt and pepper to a fish plate. Our zero personality waitress nor any other staff was paying attention to any table to refill drinks, the kitchen was blasting music different than the dining room and we couldn’t even have a conversation over it. Normally this is a much better environment, much better food. Have eaten here a few times and the food is okay I guess. I decided to post due to the pancakes, man they were rough. I love to support local and perhaps this place would be better if they shrunk their menu and focused on several dishes and made them the best they can. As it stands I cannot recommend this place. Price per person $20–30

I went with a friend for breakfast. We were seated quickly but waited about 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. We ordered coffee and ordered what we wanted off the menu. We drank our coffee and didn't see our waitress for another 15 minutes. I asked another waitress for a refill. Again, no coffee was brought until our food was brought to the table. I ordered a breakfast with gravy and biscuit. The food was warm at best and I didn't get the biscuit until my meal was finished and the bill was placed on the table. I made two trips to this restaurant today, my first and last. The food was subpar and the service horrific. If I could give less than one star I would. I was visiting family that lives in mocksville that wanted to bring me here. The staff were friendly and the food was great too. I just had some chicken tenders with fries and hush puppies but, man the best hush puppies I've ever had. Love the meal and we ended up having breakfast there before I left as well. Traveling for work, sometimes you find a good restaurant, and sometimes you're hugely disappointed. This restaurant is well worth the five stars - we've gotten everything from breakfast to dinner. The Monterey Chicken is delicious, peppers and onions give a depth of flavor that makes your tongue smile. The sides - mashed potatoes are good, green beans were also good. Sweet potato casserole made our booty's wiggle because it was so tasty. My husband LOVES the cucumber salad and ordered it with every meal (except breakfast). The portion sizes are perfect - not so much that we had to throw food away. Our final meal was the chicken salad sandwich - so good!! When we come back to the area we will definitely return here to eat. Thank you Mocksville Family Restaurant for making food that is every bit as good as homemade. There's nothing wrong with the atmosphere - it's just a typical diner ambiance. Romantic dinners here wouldn't hit the mark - unless you love bright lights and loud people. Far better than what the name would suggest. I got the fish platter and it was pretty good. Look, you know exactly what you’ll get and expect here. There is not going to be anything life changing or revelatory about the experience. But if you need a huge plate for pretty cheap in Mocksville, this is a great place to go. We had had an eight person group for lunch and the service was friendly and fast. I had the lunch special, fish and shrimp. It was fine. No seasoning. The breading on the fish completely separated from the fish into its own pile. Not a fan of the tiny hush puppies. The food and the service were both amazing!! Fast friendly service, large portions and a large menu of items to choose from. We had the Saturday special seafood dinner,and it's was delicious !!
