Super slow service-came in at 12:30 on a Saturday with only 2 diners ahead of us and waited an hour for food! Ordered dessert to go while we were still eating our meal. Everything is too salty and too sweet (and I love salt). No diet soda or unsweetened drinks available. Food portions are HUGE! Shrimp and grits were very salty and dry, no sauce of any kind. Fried catfish and beniets were overcooked. Red beans looked like refried beans they were so mashed up. Atmosphere is dark and furniture is flimsy. I was so excited to finally catch them when they were open. I had heard great things and I just moved from the New Orleans area so I was craving a good shrimp po boy and some beignets. I got my order to go. When I got home I opened the sandwich box first and there was a slice of lemon in there with a LIVE bug crawling on it. Then I looked at the beignets. BURNT!!!! I’m pretty upset. I tried to just deal with the beignets being on the crispy side, picked one up, huge hair cooked into it! $35 for bugs, burnt beignets and hair!
