Niffer's is a special place for me as part of my college experience long ago. They are famous for their selection of burgers among other things. I recently made a trip there and had a black and blue burger. Our table shared homemade chips with a sauce they call Mexicali sauce. We also had corn fritters with honey mustard dipping sauce. All were great by unanimous vote from out table. This type of food is not really my wife's style as she grew up almost vegetarian in her culture, but even she could not stop eating the homemade chips and almost finished her burger. They've been doing this for a long time so the quality is pretty dialed in unlike a lot of other places with similar food. Cons: Parking can be tough compared to other restaurants in the area. To be clear it's not like dining in a larger city with metered parking or valets, I just mean the parking lot is a little small. We are diehard Niffer's fans, love them every time! While being a bit late on this review I wanted to give a shout out to their staff for the fabulous Thanksgiving meal we purchased from them in November. Due to family emergency I was not able to cook our dinner and the order we received was OUTSTANDING! Every morsel was perfect! Thank you Niffer's, we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! I had the Fire Truck burger and cajun tots as well as an appetizer of fried pickle spears. The portions are great, and the food is pretty good. The fried pickle spears were the highlight while the tater tots tasted no different than a normal tot. Had to run an errand in Auburn and decided to try this little gem! We went at a slow time just after 3pm but it was perfect because after eating here we know this place is probably packed during normal lunch and dinner times. The atmosphere is great, very clean. The staff was so friendly and our waiter Eric was a goofball just like us so it was great. My husband and I both got the orange and blue burger, I got Cajun fries and he ordered sweet potato fries, and we shared some fried pickles. Burgers were juicy and flavorful. Both fries were hot and tasty. We really liked the fried pickles and their homemade ranch was done well. We will be back for sure. Anytime I’m in the Promised Land (Auburn) or Lake Martin, Niffer’s is a must. The potato chips with Mexicali are the first thing ordered. Niffer’s mastered the art of wings as they are crispy and sauced to perfection. And the burgers are some of the best anywhere. Niffer’s is As mischief Auburn as the university.
