Server was fantastic! I ordered the avocado Benedict. The first egg was ok… overdone but still ok. The second egg was hard boiled so I asked for a poached egg (which is what Benedict’s call for) and they gave me a whole new plate…which was really impressive! However the new “poached” egg was horrible… runny and ‘Snotty’ and horrible. I gave up at this point, tipped the server well and paid the bill and left. I will go back…but not order any eggs. We spent the day at NorthStar Tavern last weekend for the LIVIN Winter Fest non-profit event and had a blast! The owners blocked off the parking lot for a live band stage, bonfire pits, games, and tailgating trailer for Hockey Day Minnesota and the event was really well attended. We stopped inside a few times for lunch and drinks and the staff worked their butts off all day. Despite being so darn busy, they worked efficiently with smiles on their faces. The food was excellent as well! Our group enjoyed a variety of menu items and the quesadillas with carnitas added were absolutely incredible. If you live, work or just happen to be in the area, definitely stop in for some great food, friendly staff, and a quality craft beer menu. Had the Smashnorth burger, and it was ok. I was told it would be medium/well? The other food was great, and the PBLTA was fantastic. I would definitely go back. A very wide variety on their menu from taco's to pizza. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is the second time I have been here and only the second time I have ever given 5 stars. This place was amazing. We had the patty melt, fish and chips, garlic white sauce pizza with green olives, and pretzel sticks. Every single thing we had was fantastic. I live in South Minneapolis and we have a bunch of good restaurants around us but will continue to bring the family here. The fish and chips were one of the best fish and chips that I have had in Minnesota. The pizza was made with the good olives and not the pre sliced ones. Our waitress Lily was top notch. She was attentive, nice and she was quick. I thought the price on the items were fair and the portions were perfect. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Went in at around 5:30 on a Sunday. it was the perfect amount of busy, a little background chatter but not enough to interfere with a conversation. Plenty of TVs to watch the game. As we were figuring out what to order, another table's order was brought out near us and looked delicious, we asked our server what they got and she said they were the nachos so we ordered that immediately. It was the perfect size to share between 3 people. Our server was super great, she was attentive and very friendly, cracking jokes with us about my lack of spice tolerance (they're very accommodating if you want the spicy stuff on the side). I can't recall the name of what I got but it was a delicious burger! It was perfect. I chose zucchini fries as my side because our server recommended it, they were good but a bit salty. The people I dined with said they enjoyed their meal very much, not a bad thing to say. The only problem was they couldn't finish it all! I love coming to Northstar Tavern! Every time we go, it clearly is neighborhood hot spot! But last night, they made one of my dreams come true and combined 2 menu items to make a super item. The cooks created what dreams were made of for vegetarians. The cooks are great, the servers are kind, we feel welcome every time. Love! This place was really good !! I didn’t add the picture but I definitely advise the avocado cream cheese wontons for an app. The pizza was definitely worth getting again and healthy on the portions. A real nice neighborhood place serving up really good and tasty bar food with plenty of healthy options. A very satisfying collection of beers on tap and cocktails. They always have some sports event on TV if that's your thing, like you really can't eat dinner without TV then you'll feel at home. The staff is professional but not like HR professionals, much more warm. Go enjoy!
