Pizzeria del Porto di Carlo Avallone in Gaeta is a great place to try the local specialty, tiella. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. The tiella comes in many varieties, including polpo (octopus), scarola (escarole) and alici (anchovies). Prices are very reasonable, and you can also get take-away if you'd like. There are a few tables outside to sit at, with views of the port. We tried the polpo tiella, which was amazing, as well as the scarola and baccalà. All were delicious. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gaeta and looking for a tasty, affordable meal!
