This Diner just opened last year of 2023 and is totally awesome to see with 60's to 70's style furniture and decor. The food is excellent in taste 🤩, whether it's Burgers 🍔 or Hot Dogs 🌭. Prices are fair and service is pretty fast. There's plenty of parking outside and they have a huge drive thru. Available seating is provided outside incase you want to eat outdoors. Great Chicago Street food chain! Go for the beef sandwich, get it dipped. I love the broiled chicken sandwich. The fish sandwich is good, too. I tried the new plant based garden dog. It is delicious. It comes Chicago style, but you can put whatever you want on it. The chocolate cake is addictive. The shakes are enormous, even the small. Visited a few months ago for the infamous Italian beef which was pretty tasty! The cake shake was rich and delicious. The atmosphere is pretty cool, old diner feel, very clean and their service was great! Absolutely the BEST ❤️😎 They come from Chicago where I was born !! The sandwich is 100% original from Chicago. The soft bread, pepper chinies the juice !!! Perfect and of coarse you have to have it wet dipped for the complete taste… I sent my friends in Illinois pictures and told them I was in heaven!!!!! Order original beef Hot and sweet peppers dipped wet to complete this incredible sandwich PORTILLO’S MADE MY DAY !!!! Service was fine except the for the Charlie Brown teacher when they call your order number. Personally I don’t think the pickle should be bigger than the hotdog but otherwise food was fine. Today tried the char broiled chicken sandwich without mayo. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The portion seemed good but I wasn’t sure if the chicken was grilled to order. It seemed like fake grill marks with pre seasoned fillet. It had absolutely no flavor and it was just slapped on a tasteless bun with some type of mealy tomato and a bitter piece of lettuce. Portillo’s has great atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and the place is kept clean. We go there maybe once a month but the food is nothing to write home about. My wife always eats the hot dog and likes it. I usually eat the beef sandwich dipped but the portions always vary depending on what kid is making the sandwich. You know it’s a $20+ meal for two and is quick and convenient. Good place for families if you don’t mind the constant noise from the a/c and the person calling out order numbers. Very industrial with no table service in 50’s diner theme.
