The customer service was amazing, super friendly staff. I tried their chocolate glaze and butter twist. Both were good, the butter twist was unique. I compared their chocolate glaze to Big Os Doughnuts and Big Os is a few cents more but the doughnut is bigger and way better even though bith had been out for the entire morning. Having lived all around the states and experienced many different donut shops, there wasn’t anything that really stood out about their donuts. They were good, but I won’t make going there a habit. Their glazed twists and lemon filled donuts were the highlight of our visit though. Decently priced as well. Ralph's is a Cookeville classic iconic institution. No trip is complete without a visit to Ralph's Donuts! It's a must! Their donuts are fabulous, and the hot butter twists are to die for! I have left my original review at the bottom. The issue was quickly fixed. I met with the owner John, he was extremely professional, kind, and just speaking to him I could feel the amount of pride and passion he has for his shop, and it truly shows. Ralphs is one of the best donut shops in this country in my opinion. Not just for taste but for costumers care as well. I'd like to thank the team for working on this issue! I love Ralph's. Best donuts I've ever had. My favorite is the white cream filled chocolate donuts. But sadly the last dozen or so times I've gone and asked for those I get the custard filled. I can't eat the custard ones. Something about custard makes my stomach sick. (This is everywhere not just ralphs) I let staff know that i can't have custard and that I want white cream. And each time I get home 30 mins away and it's custard. Every single time. Gotta do better about keeping the two separate. Thankfully my kids eat the custard but I'm really disappointed every time. Serious cheat day for this!!! lol!!! I go through Cookeville almost every month on my way to see family but actually found out about this place from an Instagram post a fan made. Talk about a treasure!!! I’ve seen some disturbing things about the owner’s personal views but I try to keep that stuff separate and decided to try it anyway. And it did not disappoint. I was with two other people and the person helping us was very patient. We ordered about six kinds of donuts and shared them all. We all agreed the butter twist was the best but they were all super fresh and delicious. They had sold out of the cinnamon rolls but I imagine those being really good as well. The atmosphere was cozy. There were stools at the counter but it’s a small place and felt like a movie set. It’s obviously a very old building but it seemed clean and well cared for inside. There is some charming outdoor seating and a drive through window, both great options depending on the weather. I haven’t had a chance to go back but definitely will and highly recommend it! Just an old school cafe serving up the best donuts in the Upper Cumberland. They’re reasonably priced and always have a big, fresh selection to pick from. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid in the early 90’s and have since moved hours away but we always make it a point to swing by Ralph’s every time we’re in town.
