They were packed but quickly made room for us. The service was exceptional, the food was great, and when I forgot my debit card there, they stuck around after they closed for me to come back to get it! We will be back soon! I really like their gumbo. So I chose to go back today to try something different. I initially had an issue because my food was kinda wrong. But I called and the owner was extremely nice and understanding. I took the food back up there and there was no problem with them remaking it. While I waited for my for I tried a raspberry margarita (recommended by owner) and it was so good. I got a smash burger and an ultimate chicken salad. 10/10 I definitely recommend. They’re located by the fountain in downtown Joliet. The place is being updated right now. I’m sure once all the renovations is done this will be a vibe and hotspot for locals. My dinner was so good! I had a Greek wrap and fries. The fries are delicious and they are made my favorite way. I ate every bite of both. Our server Ethan was sweet and attentive, and the owner is a fabulous guy. We kind of stopped by on a whim, but it's definitely a go-to place for us now! 5 ⭐️ food daily! My favorite sandwich is the brisket with onions and sauce only! It’s delicious. I recently had a turkey smash burger, it was so full of flavor with all the toppings! Try everything with their barbecue sauce….you won’t regret it. I love that it’s a family owned/operated restaurant. Richardsons is a great addition to Joliet! Great place! Great staff! Don’t let the website photos fool you. This place is so unfinished - harsh, florescent lighting, chairs that felt like they were going to break any second and taped on table numbers written in a scrap of paper. The service was HORRIBLE! We were never offered water and our drinks were done as we waited and waited for our food. We were seated in a back corner surrounded by two, mismatched, unfinished doors that led to ??? Do not go here!! I don’t know who is giving them so many stars to inflate their ratings, but do not believe them!! I’m torn with my review. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it looked amazing. The taste and texture were completely different. The meat very fatty, most of it in fact was fat. It was also very chewy, not what I expected from a $18 sandwich (this is Joliet, what’s with the Chicago pricing?). My girls enjoyed their Philly Steak sandwiches thus the 3 stars and not one star. Ok, my biggest gripe was being charged $5 for tap water. I’m fine with paying that amount but give me a heads up! I’ve never been charged for water. I’d love to say that I’d go back seeing that maybe I received a less-than-stellar sandwich but there are too many other places to visit in the area that are excellent and not as pricey. Thanks.
