My Husband decided to stop here since we were down that way. First thing I noticed when we walked in it was really cold inside and the menu was a little confusing. The cashier explained everything. So once I got the hang of it, we ordered I picked from the second aisle of the menu which was fried rice and two sides. My two sides were orange chicken and Tostones. My Husband grabbed the Mofongo meal with spare ribs and My Daughter picked The Korean loaded fries and beef noodles with General tso sauce chicken. When we got our food I noticed I was missing my fried rice so I asked her. She said she had misunderstood but she didn’t charge it and if I wanted to add it. I said “but you charged me for the meal with two sides, so you’ll charge me for the rice seperately?” She said “Yes” so I said “ No thank you because this already came out to $81 with no rice with 2 sides like it said” she didn’t liked my answer and caught a little attitude afterwards. To be honest the food was definitely NOT worth $81 and some change. I understand prices have gone up but the quality of the food must be up to level if that’s the case. The customer’s review should be important since we the ones who make you the money. All y’all have to do is listen or read, fix what’s wrong and level up to prices and expectations to make it a successful business. The mofongo had a weird taste to it, the spare ribs was cut so thin that it was overcooked, the tostones were not crunchy and tasted bland and the orange chicken sauce was not good at all. I was not able to enjoy my meal which made me very upset. The only thing that was good was the beef noodles and the general tso chicken my daughter had. She also liked the Korean Loaded Fries. She only said that the kimchi was really cold on top of the fries. Other positive thing is that food is pretty fresh. They did asked how was everything but I didn’t wanted to embarrass my daughter or husband so I stayed shut and said “Thank You” We will not be returning again. I’ve never been upset spending that amount of money or even more for food except for this time. Never again but wish y’all the best because there’s no hate nor bad intentions in my heart. The light shines for everyone! Hope y’all make the changes needed to make it a better quality restaurant. Bestest of luck! I've been in here a few times and used to religiously recommend this place. Not only for their food when dining in but also for their take out. They achieved a level of perfect crispiness to their sesame chicken that all others failed at. It was even impressive when delivered because it was properly made to be crisp. I had one experience with some soggy sesame chicken and called the store to see if they changed the recipe or perhaps there was someone else making it and spoke to the founder. They stood by their product and were adamant that if I ordered again it would be as crisp as it's supposed to be and that it was likely a fluke or that I should state in the takeout instructions to make it crispy. I waited some time and did that. The chicken is as soggy as you would get from any ol Chinese place and much more expensive. I have lost complete faith in the restaurant and will be making sure everyone I know avoids this place. I wish the food had stayed the same. I really loved this place and would order it to impress dates or for a special treat once in a great while. The worst part is that their fried rice is also dry and that's not anything you can fix with some notes. "Don't mess up your amazing ham fried rice" doesn't exactly make sense. I really hope that whatever changed changes back. Maybe the ingredients changed to cheaper ones? I'm not sure but if I'm willing to spend $35 for their food, I expect the quality and consistency I've had before. Rico Chow is an amazing refreshing food establishment in New London offering Asian/Spanish fusion cuisine. It's super friendly and talented head chef David often leaves the kitchen to check on patrons and ask "How is everything?" his style of food is unique and flavorful and always leaves me craving more. It is a small restaurant, but plenty of tables to sit down and grab a bite. The self serve atmosphere is nice and the food always comes out super fast hot and fresh. If I was a student at either Conn College or the Coast Guard this would be my go-to. Worth checking out. Ordered from Rico Chow for the first time tonight. I took one bite of the Crab Rangoon and immediately called them (I legitimately needed the staff to know how amazing my order was.) I didn't catch the friendly women's name that picked up the phone. I work at a small family owed sandwich shop, BOH and FOH its extremely hard work. So when a customer calls the restaurant regarding their recent order...You're immediately are like...uh oh. She didn't skip a beat, so professional. The Crab Rangoon was out this world, along with the veggie spring rolls. Usually anything fried ends up soggy by the time you eat it. Not at Rico Chow! When I say everything showed up hot, crispy, and not greasy at all...i speak the truth! I also ordered the wonton soup and it's the best I've ever had. Lastly I had the boneless spareribs with the house fried rice, which are also crazy good. Anyone who leaves a negative review for Rico Chow obviously (is a Karen...) and has no idea what food made with love taste like. As you scroll through the reviews almost all are 5 stars. Don't allow people who are a pain in the butt and complain for no reason stop you from trying this gem!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We order from here for very special occasions. I let them know in our order notes that tomorrow is my boyfriends birthday and their sesame chicken is his first gift. THEY WENT ALL OUT and wrote a special happy birthday message with a special treat! Hands down best and friendliest place. Always hot and perfectly made. Thank you guys for being the best and putting love into everything you do!!!! Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

You guys should put the noodles separately with the pho broth with deliveries because i got mine so soggy and overcooked and tasted terrible. I was so excited to try your food because of the reviews but i dont know why the quality of my food was terrible. No one wants to eat noodles that are so mushy you cant even get it while you’re trying to use fork. Service Delivery Price per person $10–20 Food: 1

On our sons graduation ceremony, from the United States Coast Guard Academy, Davide and Julia were gracious enough to host a little gathering, and set this up for us. Can’t say enough about them and their hospitality and just as importantly, the food is authentic and fantastic. Going to miss going to the restaurant - best of luck to Rico Chow and family🙏🏽 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Recommended dishes Garlic Shrimp
It’s an all around NO for me. I tried two popular dishes. Korean loaded fries and Pastelon stir fry see photos. The presentation was okay. The loaded fries had potential. The Kimchi was tasty and the fries we crispy. That’s all I can say. The meat was what I would describe as bland and low quality. I only knew it was chicken by the texture and the charred taste. I would have had it with no meat if I knew. Overall it was weird. The Pastelon stir fry was just gross. The texture of the meat was minced and it also tasted low quality and like it was made with fish. I hate shellfish so that was an absolute turn off for me. The rice was hard. The plantains were okay but covered in the meat so I couldn’t eat it. I’m disappointed, my $25 is wasted, and I’m still hungry….

Ordered the lomo saltado with beef and I’m very disappointed. I usually love this dish anywhere I go with the very savory taste of soy sauce but from this restaurant what I tasted the most was an overwhelming flavor of cumin. The beef is thin and dry. Very disappointed. But the fries are good. Food: 2
