This is a great spot with a view over the crushing waves, really recommend to come sit by the street facing side of the high tops around 6pm enjoy a drink over the water and beat the crowd. My main complaint over this restaurant is the cheesecake never came after 20 min from ordering, and I was leaving to meet a friend at 7pm. When I inquired about the dessert, the waitress told me they were still making the cheesecake. They refused to remove the dessert that I never got from the check and made me carry it home lol.

Our group enjoyed a fantastic pre-arranged birthday dinner at Sama for my Dad. The chef/owner was friendly and responsive with communication. We sampled a large fraction of the menu and greatly enjoyed everything-- caldo, jipijapa/tuna, aquachile/shrimp, steak and fries, beet and goat cheese salad, cauliflower gratin (smaller than expected portion, though), elote, green salad, halibut, branzino and crispy veggies, bread pudding, lemon cheese tart, mango sorbet, gelato. Both the halibut and branzino fish were cooked perfectly. Most portion sizes were very generous. The only thing I wouldn't have ordered with hindsight was the gambas pasta-- flavor was fine and there was nothing wrong with the preparation, but it didn't complement the rest of the meal, and peeling the giant shrimp was messy trouble that had to be assigned to someone. It's a lively noisy open air scene on a Saturday evening. I highly recommend Sama for a delicious gourmet meal if you're in the Luquillo area!

I LOVE Sama! Every time i have visitors vacationing in Puerto Rico I bring them to Sama. The food and cocktails are exquisite. The establishment is relaxing, quaint and picturesque. Chef Erika and the entire staff are absolutely wonderful. This is the reason why our son and his fiancée chose Sama for their intimate wedding reception in March 2024. I can't wait for our wedding guests to experience Sama!
