Always amazing food and amazing service at sovereign. Menu is always changing but the food is always unique and can't remember having a bad meal. They do have a military/veteran discount which was awesome. Atmosphere is pretty cool as location used to be a trolly/train repair station of some sort. I would get reservations on a weekend and the drinks are a little pricey and seem to be on the smaller side but overall a great experience. Great place in downtown Plainfield. Met a buddy out for drinks and food. Sat at the bar with a super friendly and informative set of bartenders offering recommendations on bourbon based on your taste. Bar manager also came over to discuss bourbon and how they've grown their collection and set reasonable prices for people to enjoy. Good food selection, and we chose simple double smash burgers. I absolutely love the atmosphere. It is super cozy and well decorated. I appreciate the local brew selection and they have a great wine list as well. Although I have been here a few times and the food is always fantastic, today I picked the gnocchi. It had mushrooms, fried sage and roasted cherry tomatoes along with fresh ricotta. I like to try new chef created dishes and this was really delicious. It was portioned really well and presented beautifully. To drink I had a Lulz hard apple seltzer on tap, which I will get again if they continue to serve it, super tasty and crisp. Local Plainfield farm to table absolute gemmm. Drinks are second to none, wings & bloody also! We recommend the Maude for sure! It’s distinct flavor not too sweet great presentation! Just doooo it! We tried the born on fire this time which was flank steak absolutely savory and juicy perfectly cooked had red wine squash and mini potatoes! Love the beets nobody else at table was fan of beets so this time didn’t get to get but they would love they tried it!! Thankful that Chef decided to get the Wikkan Chicken back just need me some Paradise by dashboard pleeeeease! Wow are the fries better than ever tho! Waitress told us to try the half chicken as is and I listened and wow! BLEW EVERYONES MIND! We went 4x this week just for that! Also ranch out of this world sorry chef, I know they hate that but it’s homemade and delish! Thanks Sovereign for being best food in town and changing up menu! Ohhh the burger tooo! Tacos always the fave! Can’t get enough! Sorry to the person down the street that we swang on the swing after the 3 drinks! Thank you!!!! Also the people here are just magnificent and so is the atmosphere anyone that says otherwise is a weirdo, period.
