Staff were very friendly and everything seemed clean. The burger was dripping with grease. The fries were very tasty when hot. The food here is always so good. I got the garlic burger and fries combo and they did not disappoint. The person taking my order at the drive through window was very sweet. The one server at the register who was taking orders, making ice cream and also delivering orders to the tables was doing a great job. She gets 5 stars. But the fact that the store only had one server and expected her to take care of everybody earned the restaurant as a whole 0 stars. So average it out to 3 stars. The worst Steak 'n Shake experience I've ever had at any location. I'm three hours from this town and was staying overnight. My local restaurant in Cape Girardeau is amazing and I go there often. I will absolutely not go to this one anymore. I'm in West Plains once a week for work and decided to give it a try. Servers were more worried about their friends that were in there, walking around the restaurant with so friends baby, and the damn dog that they had in there. Not a service dog, a puppy. The only reason I knew it was there was because it fell off the table/bench and let out a yelp that scared the bejesus out of me. I’d been out showing property ALL day and was starving! I hadn’t been here in probably a year since I’d heard it wasn’t that good now. Well either I was SO hungry or they have vastly improved! It was really good! Flavors were really good, I do wish the fries were bigger. I think I had #7. Went through drive thru. Nice burger place. Friendly staff. Burgers are pretty good. Fries are too thin which makes them cold fast. So start with your fries first. I like their seasoning on the side. It was ok. Honestly the staff was friendly, and the service was fairly quick, too. Some of our order was missing, but it was dealt with quickly. I suppose the price was decent for the quantity and quality of the food received. Location wasn't the cleanest, but it was busy and I did see staff trying to clean in between customers. If eating with a partner, I recommend one of you grab a seat while the other orders. This is to make sure you not only get a seat, but also a clean one. I simply can't justify more than 3 stars when the food was just ok. I'm not saying we wouldn't try it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10
