I’m a taco fanatic😊🥰. My husband and I drove 40 miles to try “Strange Taco” in Lawrencevile Ga. This was our first time trying them and I must say from the service to the food, we’ll give them 5 stars💯 #weategood Here’s what we tried…. 1. Steak & Queso 2. Bacon Cheeseburger 3. Spicy Gyro 4. Teriyaki Chicken 5. Portobello Mushroom 6. Fried Fish 7. Cajun Shrimp 8. OG steak 9. Black beans 10. Street corn When I tell you 10 out of 10, it’s legit. Each taco was flavorful and juicy. We were in awe of how good each one tasted. It was well worth the hour and 15min ride. Food and service was A1. Stopped by to try a taco on my way to the pizza place. The super gyro taco was delicious so we ended up eating there instead. While I'm eating, the guy brought me another shrimp taco because he thought the one they made me originally wasn't up to his standards(without me mentioning it). Went on a Friday evening with the family. Service was fast and although there is only one register, they got us through quickly. Very limited indoor seating but more outside. I had the fried fish tacos which were pretty good. Daughter had beef tacos but it turns out they should be called carne asada. She enjoyed them. Wife had pork (al pastor) which she did not enjoy. She prefers corn to flour tortillas but that was not an option. Other daughter had chicken curry tacos and she wasn't a fan. Curry was very thick and lacked a flavorful punch. Pros: Really cute place, patio seating, good music vibe, reasonable priced tacos and Margaritas, great if your just out and about like I was and want to grab a quick bite. I had the Cajun shrimp taco, cocunut shrimp taco and the black bean taco, they all were very flavorful. Especially the cocunut it was bomb, the Cajun was cooked a little hard, but the flavors with the tortillas and pio was popping, the blackbean was good but the rice was hard I had to get most of that off so it didn't kill the fresh taste of the" qwak" on the taco. Overall it was really good I will definitely come back to try other menu items is worth the price. HORRIBLE! I’m literally writing this review while I’m still in the restaurant because I’m so annoyed that I wasted my calories on this. We decided to stop in for date night before a show we was going to and the food was so underwhelming and lacking. The tator tot nachos had a weird after taste to it. The fried coconut shrimp tacos had a weird sweet taste to it, the fried fish taco was flavorless but edible and the Buffalo chicken taco also had a very weird taste to it…the goat cheese tasted off. I could barely eat any of it…so all this food is getting thrown away. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Strange taco is a great place for lunch or even dinner for the whole family. The taco selections are defiantly unique and very delicious. Service was fast and staff were great with assisting with selections as there are so many good ones to chose from. I ordered the Chicken + Queso, and the Steak and Cheese bowls to go. It was ready in about 15 minutes. Everything was fast, fresh, and fabulous. My wife and I have been looking for locals place where you can build your own taco. They have a large selection of types from Sweet to BBQ. Excellent atmosphere with outdoor seating available. Parking is no problem around back. Give Strange Taco a Chance! It's good....
