I have been wanting to try this place out for a long time because of the great reiviews, but in my experience I thought thought everything was just ok. To be fair though, I am not a big breakfast person so take my review with a grain of salt. My friends really liked it.
First, parking is terrible. There is a very small lot with extra parking behind the nextdoor building, but that gets filled up pretty quickly as well so be prepared to spend some time looking for a spot. The line is usually pretty long in the mornings, especially on the weekends, but it moved surprisingly fast so we did not wait too long.
You must have your order ready before you are seated so take a look at the menu ahead of time. There were images of some of their plates diplayed on a television and some flyers hung up that we based our selections off of, but when we got to the cashier to take our order they didn't have any of the three plates we wanted. Apparently, the TV was displaying dishes that they currently have as well as dishes that are coming soon. Nothing differentiated which plates were coming soon so that was a bummer and a little frustrating. The flyer in front did give a start date for one of the items.
The inside is cute and quaint, like a regular house (hence the name). There is a large outdoor seating area in back that feels like the backyard. We didnlt get to sit back there because it was full, but inside was also nice.
The food, in my opinion, was ok. I had the salad and soup combo with the tri-tip salad and a clam chowder. The meat was tender, but not very flavorful and the clam chowder tasted like canned soup. It is very rare that I crave traditional breafast food items (panckaes, waffles, omlettes, etc.), but when I do I might still go back to give them a fair a shot. The homey ambience is worth another try.

Good omelet breakfast.
I know waves are continuously incredibly.
Sadly, we must selectively choose where we eat.
$37 for two people at lunch is out of our price range.
Will not eat here often.
I know this is a popular place to eat....
I am sure they are nice people.
Just not worth it to me.
Can't afford it often.

This is the absolute last time I will ever go to this restaurant. My family and I have come before and have not been impressed with the service, but this time takes the cake.
My family of 5 waited in line to order food. As we neared the front of the line, with 2 parties in line in front of us, a table large enough to accommodate us opened up. The restaurant was very full due to it being a holiday week. I had my three teenage children sit at the table while my husband and I moved up to order at the counter. An older man, employee or manager of the restaurant, came up to my children sitting at the table and told them they needed to get up because we hadn't ordered our food yet. He said we had to wait to get a table until after we'd ordered, which I get, however, we're a party of 5, and no other tables big enough were close to finishing.
I could not believe they made us get up. They didn't even attempt to find another table for us. It was very rude and even the lady waiting in line before us could not believe he did that.
I will never go back to this restaurant, and would advise anyone else considering going here to spend their money where customers are treated with respect. McDonalds has better service than Avocado House.

We didn’t realize it was an order and find a seat place before coming inside, so note to new patrons. Staff is VERY nice and food comes out FAST. Very cute atmosphere, it actually reminds we of our old house in LA. Parking was a little tight, so be patient.
We got the skillet (served on a plate) and added jalapeños. It wasn’t very spicy, but it was good. Cinnamon roll french toast was good. Jalapeño cheese toast was amazing!
If you’re in the area, check it out!
