As others have said service was lousy , 4 people behind the counter ( maybe there are 2 lines - unsure ) 1st woman was scatterbrained and asked another blonde to help me . Mid 20s blonde long hair came over “you been helped ?? “. I just wanted a quarter pound of rainbow cookies since the the cake box in Kingston just closed . She prepares a box and said “this is a quarter pound , do you want a box or bag”. Box was already made so a box is fine but normally bag is ok w me. I think she was angry she made the box w out asking. Rainbow cookies were 100% average, looked identical to the ones ShopRite sells. Nothing to write home about. Then she pointed to the credit card machine but I had cash ( it was $5) I’m guessing she wanted a tip on the card. Here’s a tip to the owner — your staff sucks 1st and last. Nothing extraordinary , I’d recommend to locals just go to ShopRite Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

EDIT: from 4 to 2 stars- Unfortunately, this place has really gone down hill. The bagels are always dry, and the challah has consistently been burnt every time. I tried door dashing from them for the first time and it came in a small brown bag with the baked goods sticking out of it- not stapled shut or anything. It didn’t even surprise me because there has been a lack of attention at The Bakery over the past few months, and it’s only gotten worse. The atmosphere is nice, but it doesn’t really outweigh the bad parts- I won’t be as frequent unfortunately, but I will definitely continue to give it a shot and support and update the review if it gets better. OLD REVIEW: A really great place to come in the morning before work. I’ve only had the baked goods, but they’re all great. The bagels, for me, are the perfect size and they taste really good! The only reason it’s lost one star is because it’s just a little expensive. $8 for a bagel with cream cheese and a latte (both delicious), and the croissants are like $3.50 each. *however* all the other cafes in NP are the same, so maybe there’s an external factor I’m just unaware of that makes it pricey. My main issue is that there is never any challah anymore… I would come every weekend to a boat load of loaves and pick the best and buy it and share with friends- now even in the mornings, there is MAYBE one loaf. I believe they make it on Fridays, but they used to on Saturday too if I’m not mistaken- regardless, I hardly see it anymore. As a Jewish man, I’m really hoping the new ownership cares for the Jewish community in the way the last owners did. Maybe I just happen to always come right before they put new loaves out, but just figured I’d note this. Final note- it’s not wheelchair accessible. Yes, you can get in the building on a wheelchair, but during cold months there is no where to sit downstairs- and no elevator. Similar with some other reviews I’ve seen, the bakery is amazing and has potential to be perfect, just with a few minor improvements :) Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
