First time customer, convinced a friend to try it also. I was embarrassed that I invited them . Why 4-5 $ more if we sit in the restaurant rather than take out? At least inform us of this when you had us the menu. The hamburger was mediocre especially for the price. I bought two take out items which quite frankly I believe were left over from catering jobs or just simply OLD as one item was "sour" in two days after purchase.I bought the lasagna which was the worst I have had in a long time. Pasta was way way over cooked ( reheated after a catering event?) And the rest was gooey and mushy without being able to discern the separate ingredients , All one taste. I apologized to my friend who was not impressed with her lunch as well and the item she brought home for her brother was the worst he had ever had. I know this sounds made up with so many complaints, but it is not. Never will return . Really quite angry about the waste of money. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Everyday Gourmet is absolutely fabulous! We had them cater my grandmother’s 90th birthday party and they did a fantastic job. Pat was a huge help getting all the details sorted and made great suggestions for the menu. Good communication throughout the process. The food was delicious (people were talking all afternoon about how good it was), but what really blew us away was the service. Sue and Anthony were amazing. Efficient and professional and very friendly. They helped with everything from set up to clean up and did a great job of pacing the food throughout the party. They took especially good care of my grandmother, making sure she had anything she needed, taking the time to chat with her, and overall helping make sure her birthday was extra special. Had a delicious lunch here with my brother. Everything is homemade served by a lovely couple. My salad was exchanged to get the small because the large is a good size. My brother loved his turkey sandwich. We have also ordered catered food for a friend once and they loved it! Love this place! Whether it’s soup, a sandwich, or a salad— OR one of Pat’s special entrees, the food here is consistently exceptional! Everyone who works there is also very nice. A great place!

Best food in the New Haven county. My go-to is "The Cluckin Russian", but cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Their catering is unbelievable, the staff is always so friendly and easy to work with, and my guests are always talking about how great the food was.

Extremely overpriced for mediocre food. I had the Chicken Marsala with Broccoli Rabe, super salty rabe and tough chicken meaning it was not fresh. I should have gotten out when I noticed the dust and cobwebs around the place and on the decor on the walls so close to the tables. My husband had the panini of the day, which was decent but definitely not worth the $14 . I almost never write bad reviews, but hey, if you call yourselves a gourmet establishment you need to live up to it. At least reduce the number of items on the menu, focus on what you can do instead of an ambitious 3 page menu. We’d chosen to eat there because of the rave reviews online but were sorely disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely amazing food. Chicken parm amazing, The Godfather sub Amazing! The burgers are to die for. Food is so good i sat frozen in my car for 10 minutes with my mind blown after having the brunch burger.

The Everyday Gourmet is my favorite deli in the New Haven area. My favorite sandwiches include The Jenna, The Big John, and of course a fan favorite - The Cluckin Russia. EDG is family owned and operated. The owners are the nicest people around. Please check this place out whenever you're cruising down Whitney.

EDG is my favorite place to have lunch in the New Haven area, the delicious food and friendly service is always on point. My favorite dish is the Toscana, it has grilled chicken , broccoli rabe and fresh mozz.
