Had an excellent experience here, and Montana took great care of us! The staff was welcoming, and the food and drink were superb (we had a bacon cheeseburger, a picante chicken burrito, cheese curds, and bloodies). New Review of New Stacy Location! ***I initially emailed the business TWICE with zero response so I see it fit to leave a public review regarding my experience. When I went to the new location - it was such a bad experience. The bartenders were doing nothing but struggling/having a difficult time keeping their frustrations to themselves. I could hear them complaining about their issues to customers and coworkers. It wasn’t a relaxing experience. It took away from my time with my friend and my work. Their stress was definitely felt throughout the bar and it was quite unprofessional to say the least. Another thing - I had asked to do the chicken burrito of which I requested a minor modification. I asked to do the Jerk Chicken that you put on the Jerk tacos instead of the spicy chicken that you put on the burrito. I was told “The kitchen said no.” And “restaurants don’t do modifications anymore.” Well that is a lie because every restaurant that I have been to (especially recently) has absolutely ZERO problem modifying something so small such as my request. I just wanted to swap it for something of equal value that was on the menu. Why is that such a hard task? It’s okay to say “no” but throwing a lie in there as well as a massive attitude it most definitely made me loose my appetite. I ended up not eating and having to make something at home which was sadly unfortunate because I was looking to enjoy dinner and trying a burrito at your establishment. I am very unimpressed and I am not super eager to go back. In fact, I haven’t been back since. OLD REVIEW Seriously delicious. I clearly have an obsession with the fish tacos! Fun beers on tap and great cocktails as well! Wonderful flavors and friendly service (except for one occasion but not sure that bartender works there anymore). Our server was fun and checked in on us just enough. The food was excellent! I had a mushroom and Swiss burger with fresh, locally sourced mushrooms, very tasty. Hopefully in the future they can expand on outside seating. But the inside on the bar side was very comfortable/ cozy kind of. Nice vibe. We will be back and bring people from out of town too! The food was very good and arrived quick. The bartender, Montana, was very sweet and made some tasty drinks. The workers in general were very friendly. The liquor selection was surprisingly impressive and the tap beer choices were locally rad. Can’t wait to come back and visit. The Fort is a bright spot in the North Branch food and drink scene. While you can still get a burger on Tuesdays, the overall menu is gastropub focused. A mix of Caribbean, west coast, and MN fare. The staff is amazing, from the owners to the servers and bartenders. Speaking of bartenders, they have the best drinks in the area. I have a couple complaints: we were SO cold the entire time. The four person table is too small. We had no where to set gloves, etc. BUT out server Drew was awesome! Drinks were fantastic. Food was also pretty good! Could use a bit more seasoning in some of the items, but I'd definitely come back when in town again. Fun place in North Branch! The cheese curds were really good. I got the signature salad with Crab cakes. My husband got the chicken bacon ranch wrap and said it was really good. Next time I'll try something different, but my food was good as well. Their fries are delicious. They have a great drink menu including multiple NA options. It is a smaller space and was completely filled up when we went Friday night. The staff and bartenders are hard workers and very friendly. They have interesting and unique menu items. I think it's kind of fun that the food comes through a little window attached to a "food truck." I'm excited to go back! Clint and I ate at The Fort the other day and it was so good. This is an eclectic restaurant that started as a food truck and still has a true food truck attached to it. It seems like an unlikely spot for a restaurant and yet it is working well. The ambiance is a bit darker than I would like, but this time we sat on a high top by the window and it was great. They have a great selection of tacos and burgers; as well as appetizers and craft cocktails and beers. The house merlot is really good and it is relatively inexpensive. I loved the Korean Beef Tacos that I had and Clint had a build-your-own burger that included lots of BACON and bacon jam...yum! Both times that we have been here the service has been great and we loved meeting the owner as well. Fun to have a place like this so close to home and we will definitely be back.
