Any fan of D&D, Magic: the Gathering, and the fantasy genre in general will love the cozy atmosphere that the Loch Café & Games has to offer. With an assortment of lemonades, coffees, foods, and sweets, the café provides reasonable prices compared to most shops in the area. The servers are kind and quick with orders. If there is a wait, you can browse their wonderful assortment of boardgames, dice, and booster packs.
Also, they host D&D games here! It reminds me of Dungeons End, except you get a caffeine fix. It's great!

Had coffee & hot chocolate, with some turkey, bacon, ranch wraps, while playing a couple games/puzzles. Was a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

Always a fun place to visit and enjoy time with friends and family. The staff is very helpful and willing to answer the questions I have about games, food, and upcoming events. I'm looking forward to grabbing lunch or one of their great drinks options next time.

Atmosphere and vibe is perfect. You can tell they recently opened. The only major downside is food. They don't have much more than store bought microwaved stuff. Coffee is good though. Amazing study/game space. I don't see any parking other than on the street.

Great iced latte and a mocha. The calzones are delicious. The breakfast sandwiches are a little basic. Nice space! Love that they also have games. I’d like to come back to play some Pokémon next time I’m in town!

Ahhh!!!! I am so excited they are open and was thrilled to make it in on opening day before I went to work. I arrived about 20-30 mins after opening and there was a line out the door! Plus tons of patrons already inside. The cafe looks amazing. Lots of drinks and food for sale, plus games, TTRPG building supplies, stuffed gaming merch, and The Loch merch (I got a mug!) I am so excited to see this place it looks amazing. I was even able to use the small parking lot behind the building (score!) I waited in line about 20 minutes or so (more than fine. Opening day). The owner at the cash register was greeting everyone, super friendly, and answering questions. I overheard him say they hired a DM for their hosted dnd games and when I got to work and mentioned it to my coworker, he turned out to be that dm! How cool!! (Highly recommend, very nice guy). The menu is expansive and amazing (two patrons were kind enough to hold theirs open for me since I was alone and didn’t want to lose my spot. So friendly customers AND staff here). The owner took time to answer all my menu questions and my questions about hosting my monthly book club there. The barista and the owner making the drinks were both VERY kind (despite being totally slammed) and my Sylveon latte was delicious. They were sold out of most pastries when I got there (yay them!!!) but my donut was yummy :) I cannot WAIT to go back when I can stay :) (hoping to go in with friends later this week or sometime next) my only hope is that they get a menu on the wall at some point, or move the menus closer to the door on long line days, but if not its really no big deal. If you need more time at the register or have (lots of) questions you will never be rushed. Duluth really lucked out here!!!
I have been saying for years that I would love a coffee shop in this neighborhood - somewhere walkable, close to the university, and nothing has really stepped into the gap that Snooty Fox left. Enter The Loch. The people here are delightful. Friendly and passionate about what they do. Everything is on-theme without being pretentious. The entire space feels very welcoming and warm. They just opened, but I have high hopes that they’ll go the distance and become a neighborhood fixture.
I have been to the Loch every day since it’s grand opening. This place is amazing! The coffee is high quality and so are the teas. I’ve tried Iroh’s Green Tea, the French Press, Darkside Mocha, Sylveon Latte, and Itadori’s Chai. Fun naming that’s simple and nerdy, a clean and open upstairs for chatting and TTRPGs, and two phenomenal owners makes this place stand out as a new staple in Duluth.
