I wanted to share our recent experience at Mack's BBQ inside Fate Main Grocery in Fate, Texas. I'm Lincoln's mother's boyfriend, and I joined Lincoln for a little adventure today.
We had plans for a fishing trip at the HOA main pond and initially went to the grocery store to pick up some hot dogs. To our surprise, they were fresh out of hot dogs. That's when Mack's BBQ came to the rescue.
Inside the grocery store, they handed us some high-quality sausages that turned out to be a hit with the fish in the pond. The fish practically leaped out of the water for these sausages!
What really warmed our hearts was that Mack's BBQ didn't charge us a dime for those sausages. It was a simple act of kindness, and in a world that could use more of it, it truly made our day.
If you ever find yourself in Fate, Texas, do pay a visit to Mack's BBQ inside Fate Main Grocery. They not only serve great food but also exemplify the kind of hospitality that makes a place special.

We got the Big Boy Sampler with Fried Zucchini and Fried Okra. We didn't get to try the ribs because they were out, so we substituted Chopped Brisket for the ribs. The sides were great and the meat was excellent. The sauce was very good and they gave us just enough for our family (two medium containers filled 2/3 of the way).
We will be back and recommend it.
We have also tried their donuts (now that they changed from Mack's BBQ to The Smokin' Donut). The apple fritters are very good (and huge). The other donuts were good.
AMAZING! Pure eating enjoyment! The bbq brisket burrito is out of this World! The tacos were awesome, the turkey legs were awesome, and the fried okra was amazing! Took the family and we all were super full with leftovers! Owner was there and welcomed us to the neighborhood. We will definitely be back. Fantastic food with friendly staff!
Service is great, I haven't interacted with one employee that wasn't incredibly helpful, and the food is top notch. Great BBQ, and I actually love the fact it's located inside the convenient store; if you are getting it to-go, you can pick up a few things while waiting!
Always moist and tender Texas style bbq. Don't let the location deter you. It is well worth your time and money! The people are helpful and always friendly. Keep up the great work!
The bbq is awesome! We had the ribs and a turkey leg , which is huge. All of it was incredible. The staff was super nice and easy to talk to. This is my new favorite bbq place.
2nd time there the best barbecue ...awesome huge portions ...the beef brisket and pulled pork amazing flavor bbq sauce and potato salad is a 10+ ....French Fries yummy and the apple fritters the best I ever had..
Definitely worth the stop. Great friendly service and amazing BBQ! Sides are delicious too - particularly the beans! Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
